Chapter 65

1001 Words
The black-robed man, his face ashen, stared in the direction from which the stone had flown, still shaken. "Such... terrifying power." Ignoring the intense pain coursing through his body, he quickly got up and fled back into the casino. Upon reaching the surveillance room, he immediately reported the incident. After hearing the report, the young master didn't appear surprised. Instead, he sneered, "Hmph, no matter how strong he is, he's just a brainless fool. Go tend to your injuries. That Jack fellow has piqued my interest!" Hearing this, Jerry and the others couldn't hide their joy. On the other side, Simon, carrying the unconscious Tina, approached Jack. "Sir, I'm back!" "Let's go," Jack said coolly, picking up Eleen as they left. On the way back, he learned the cause of the events. It turned out that Tina knew Simon wanted to repay her for saving him, but she didn't want him to risk his life because of her father. So she had gone to the casino alone, but she was too late. Her father had chosen to commit suicide to avoid implicating her, and Tina was captured and almost violated by the casino thugs before Simon arrived just in time to save her. Jack sent both women to a private hospital to recover, with Simon staying behind to take care of them. Jack, however, returned directly to his hotel. In truth, he was more intrigued by the black-robed man. The man wasn't as strong as Jack, but compared to ordinary people, he was like the Grim Reaper. Jack was curious about which powerful organization could have such a formidable assassin. *** Early the next morning, Emily called. "Jack, are you awake?" she asked, her tone full of helplessness. "What's going on?" Jack had been planning to visit Emily, but she had called first. "My grandmother and the family have shown up. They've blocked me in the house and won't let me leave. It's driving me crazy!" Emily sighed. "Don't worry, I'll be there soon," Jack reassured her before driving to the Foster family home. In the Foster family's living room, the entire family was present, filling the room to capacity. "My son-in-law, you're finally here!" Nancy greeted him the moment she saw him. Son-in-law? The Foster family couldn't help but get goosebumps at the term. Since when had Nancy become so close to Jack? Wasn't she the one who hated him the most? Jack felt a bit awkward himself. "Auntie, I'm here to see Emily. And why are all these people here?" he asked. Hearing Jack's question, Hanks slammed the table, glaring at him. "What right do you have to question us?" Jack ignored him entirely, fixing his gaze on Ladyship Foster. "Speak, or don't blame me for kicking every one of you out." "How dare you!" The Foster family members were enraged by Jack's audacity. However, none of them dared to make a move. Jack had been a soldier, and his combat skills were far superior. The old lady's face darkened, and she said coldly, "Jack, we're here today mainly because of you and Emily! We know you've offended the Shaw family! For the sake of a child the Shaw family doesn't even acknowledge, you dare to offend such a powerful clan? Are you a fool?" Jack took a step forward, his aggressive aura sweeping through the room as he snarled, "Say one more bad word about my sister, and I'll make sure you never speak again!" The old lady turned pale under Jack's fierce gaze and stammered, "Because you and Emily offended the Shaw family, they've officially started targeting the Foster family!" She added, "Our Memorial Park project was already being suppressed by the Destroy Steele Group, and now the Shaw family is blocking our other companies. Many of our suppliers are afraid to work with us and have stopped providing materials. If this continues, the Foster family will be finished in a few days!" Her face was ashen as she imagined the Foster family going bankrupt. Having grown accustomed to a life of luxury, she couldn't bear the thought of returning to her former miserable existence. Jack sneered, "What does your fate have to do with me? When you schemed to steal the Memorial Park project from Emily, when you framed and slandered her, when you even whipped her, did you ever consider this day might come?" "And now you want my help? Keep dreaming!" Jack's contemptuous gaze swept over the Foster family members in the living room. "You… you…!" The old lady was so furious at Jack's barrage of questions that she nearly fainted. Hanks quickly shouted, "Frank, are you just going to stand there and watch as he drives our mother to her grave?" Frank, who had remained silent, looked conflicted. After a moment of hesitation, he gritted his teeth and said, "Jack, could you help us one more time? I promise that after this, I won't oppose you and Emily being together. I'm begging you, can you do that?" Hearing this, Jack replied, "I'll help on one condition: everyone here must apologize to Emily and return the Memorial Park project to her!" "What did you say? Impossible!" The old lady's eyes widened in fury as she shouted. She had already been forced to apologize to Emily once due to Jack's threats. This was more painful than death. The other Foster family members were equally outraged. As elders of Emily, their pride wouldn't allow them to apologize to a younger girl. "Then there's nothing to talk about. You can leave now," Jack said coldly. At this, the Foster family members began to panic. "Jack, I order you to solve this problem for the Foster family, or you can forget about being with my daughter!" Suddenly, Frank shouted at Jack. The rest of the Foster family quickly echoed his words. "Yeah, Frank is right!" "It's Jack and Emily who offended the Shaw family, so why should we take the blame?" "Hurry up and apologize, or get out!"
