20th December - Christmas party!’
After a gruelling final week and observation finally out of the way today was the Christmas party everyone had arrived at school on their non uniform as it was the last and final day of this term until January.
Of course Connor was in his bag ass attire, James Harry and Ashby they’d become good friends over the past few months and she hoped they’d continue after the winter break into the new school year. Dan was almost identical to her with his skull tee -shirt and skinny jeans and heavy boots. She’d chose to wear her bloody skull and roses top with mesh arms, her baggy black trousers with drapes and chains. Her boots held many studs and buckles she hoped that sour face wouldn’t try and send her home today like her failed previous attempts on non uniform day. The party was taking part in the great hall the food and drinks spread across the back wall a disco at the other the lights flashing around the great hall.
“Wow they sure went out on this this year.”
“They sure did we only usually get a class room party.”
Stenton looked over and smiled. He was wearing Armani it looked to be a suit but it was clearly a pair of Armani trousers and a dark coloured shirt half buttoned to show his six pack to have al other girls swarming over him apart from Autumn that was, he’d always tired his best to impress her but that wasn’t even good enough maybe next year he thought smiling.
“You’re dad make you wear that?”
“You know dad, Con. I hate this sort of thing, give me jeans and a tee- shirt any day I hate formal.”
They nodded Stenton’s dad always had to go the extra mile to make things seem better than they actually were.
“You look good Red.”
“You don’t look bad yourself, Stenton.”
“Why thank you.” He smiled, he’d actually got a complement out of her instead of a dig at comment.
“Dont tell him that babe he’ll grow a second head. It’s already big enough.”
“No I won’t.”
“So who can’t wait for Christmas?”
“Me. I hate Christmas.”
“Why?”
“Turkey.”
They laughed.
The party finished around two everyone had danced and ate now were leaving, hugging one another; to autumns dismay the mistletoe managed to come out again, but it was Connor’s friends this time who had managed to gain a peck on her cheek.
They all said their goodbyes Connor and autumn sat in the bench over looking the lake his arm around her so many memories some good some bad the worst was around a month ago when she was here with Gaz.
She’d met him despite of her mom not agreeing to their relationship she wanted to give it a go but it was proving harder than it looked.
She had feelings for Connor everyone knew he liked her Daniel new the truth but chose to keep it to himself seen as he had those kinds of feelings for her to but he knew she’d always choose Connor over him . Her and Gaz were dong okay though he always wanted to take it further, that night at the lake he’d apologised for not seeing much of her due to work they’d made him work almost every night snd it had knackered him out. She said it was fine. They’d talked a while he was still not cool woth her spending so much time with Connor or any other guy in fact but she didn’t care they were all her friends a the end of the day and he was not her mom he couldn’t dictate who she could and couldn’t see, he’d kissed her and soon it turned into a full blown make out seesi0n his hands were all over her and she’d panicked running bumping into Connor.
“Autumn!” Gaz shouted.
“What happened Babe?”
“I’m sorry Con he said that if I wasn’t comfortable with us he’d stop snd leave me alone he didn’t listen to me Con he insisted is warm up to him he..he..”
She looked up at Connor she could see the fear in her eyes and pushed her behind him. He charged at Gaz. “What the f**k did you do?”
“Noting she didn’t want.”
He punched him, he stumbled, he hit his again. “If a girl tells you to stop you do it, I’d a girl is not comfortable in your presence you let her go. If she dozens to want a relationship you respect her decision.’ He said whilst punching him over and over again his knuckles bloody. ’She’s not like us asshole she needs to be tested with care not disrespect, stay the f**k away?!”
He turned pacing his arm over Autumn’s shoulders. “Come in babe let’s get you beck to mine. I’ll let your mom know you’re staying over.”
She nodded.
She hadn’t seen or spoke to Gaz ever since that day and she was great full that Connor was there or something bad may have happened if he’d finally caught up with her.
“It’s getting late babe I’ll walk you home.”
She nodded looking at the moon shimmering across the water of the lake, when had it got this dark she was so lost in her thoughts she hadn’t realised it was almost eight pm and her mom had tired ringing but her phone was on silent so she could enjoy the time alone with Connor with out interruptions.
They pulled themselves up and he dropped his arm over her shoulders walking her home. He looked above the door grinning eh wriggled his eyebrows seductively. She looked on the door frame when the hell ahd her mother have the time to put that their she sighed.
He pulled her close pressing his lips on hers engaging in a long passionate kiss. He moved away smiling. “I’ll see you tomorrow babe.”
“Okay.”
He dropped his arms form around her. “So when’s your birthday?”
“Christmas Day.”
“Wow.”
“When’s yours?”
“New Years day, we’ll have to spend it together, the guys will be around at seven pm so we can all celebrate if that’s okay?”
“Yeah sure.”
He smiled “Tomorrow, babe.”
“Okay.”
He pecked her cheek. He turned walking away and waved before she headed in.
21st December
Autumn sat by the lake smoking. Dan overshadowed her. “Your mom said you were out here. I thought we were doing it at yours?”
She looked up at him. “I needed time out.”
“Sure.” He said, sitting next to her. “So your mom has beenbugging you?”
“Yeah, too many questions.”
“What about?”
“All of you.”
“Oh..’ He said looking at her. ’What you say to her?”
“We’re all friends and I was helping you out with your school work.”
“Well, you ain’t lying.”
“She still doesn’t get why all my friends are boys and not girls.”
“I see.”
“Shall we, go somewhere a little warmer?”
“Yeah, a good idea the library is the warmest place right now and it’s got all the books we need. So let’s go there.’
“Sure.” She said, pulling herself up and wing backpack over her shoulders.
They walked away from the lake heading onto the town and going into the library to get what they needed to do their project. They pulled out their, note pads, pens and pencils starting their assignment.
He looked at Autumn. “We best get this finished tomorrow it’s given me a headache.”
“Sure “
They shoved his belongings in their rucksacks and left the library heading for the cafe to grab a bite to eat and a hot drink.
Daniel walked Autumn Val to the lake. “I’ll see you tomorrow after lunch okay?”
“Okay.”
He kissed her moving away. “Tomorrow Red.” He said.
“Sure.”
He walked away as she lit a cigarette.
Connor sat down on the bench wrapping his arms around her and kissing her cheek. “So was that Dan?”
“It was.”
“So did you your much done?”
“No, I’m seeing him tomorrow to finish it off.”
“So are we still on for six then?”
“Yeah.”
He smiled kissing her softly. He took the cigarette off her smoking it and doubting it out. “We can go into town for a pizza or something tomorrow if you like.”
“That’ll be nice.”
They sat by the lake watching the sun go down.
“I best go Con it’s getting late.”
“I’ll walk you.”
“Okay.”
They pulled themselves up he took her hand and they walked away from the lake and over the bridge. He looked at her. “Maybe next weekend it will just be the two of us.”
“That would be nice.”
He pressed his lips on hers kissing her hungrily. He moved away. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Night Con.”
He walked away as she closed the door behind her.
