Ashley and I ate alone. Ashley made small talk conversation about the weather and such. She knew I was anxious because I kept looking at the door.
“They’ll be here soon I’m sure.” Ashely said. Soon never came. We were done eating and there wasn’t anything to do. The maids came and cleared the plates. We were both now gaining worry. The door opened and we both stood. It was Fredrick.
“Ladies.” He walked in and kissed me. “Sorry we missed dinner.” He held out his arm and I took it.
“Where’s Henry?” Ashely asked.
“Interrogation. I need to get back soon. I was sent to inform you both that we weren’t able to come have dinner.” Ashley nodded to Fredrick’s words and took her leave.
