I woke to a tap on the door. I pushed myself up as the door opened and the maid came in, same maid from last night. “Good morning Julia!” She said as she came in and stopped at the scene in my room. “I’m sorry, I bumped the table.” I said trying to cover up that not only was the tea pot and cups broken but stuff from the shelves and mantle over the fireplace all over the floor as well. Then she picked up my ripped dress. “I’ll take this one to get fixed right away. Tell Henry to be more careful next time.” My face flushed as she placed the dress in the chair and started to pick up broken pieces of the tea pot off the floor. “You… saw him come in didn’t you?” I said with a little bit of shame. “Of course, I’m not blind dear I’ve seen him wait for Fredrick to leave.” I lowly laughed.
