“Did something good happen overnight?” Naomi, who had been standing in her doorway for seconds asked, and Ashley straightened up immediately. Her Mom had seen how she kept smiling and dramatizing while dressing up.
“Mom! You should knock next time.”
“I did. You were too engrossed in your own world to hear me knock. Share with me the good news, I need to hear something good before going for work”, her Mom said as she entered her room, then sat on her bed.
