Happy Birthday Sky

472 Words
I jumped up out of bed and Ronan was right behind me, it felt like I was on the Astral plane for a week when in reality it was only a few hours, time there moves faster than time here, 3 days there is only about 3 or 4 hours here, I ran downstairs and my mother was in the kitchen cooking up a fiesta she turned around and let out a breath of relief. Mom; oh good you're back how are you feeling  Sky; honestly strong  Mom; lol of course you do I guess it's a good thing I made a lot of food I imagine the council will be showing up for your birthday.... oh and who might this be Sky; oh that's Ronan  Mom; okay well we'll be presenting him as your birthday present okay Sky; yeah I kind of figured as much  Mom got back to cooking and I grabbed a quick snack before heading back to my room to clean up and get dressed for this little birthday gathering of mine that I had a feeling was no longer going to be just the main family. As I finished getting dressed and headed downstairs to help my mom with the finishing touches the doorbell rang so I ran to get the door. When I opened it there stood 12 people 6 men and 6 women whom I had never met, these were our elders, the council of the witches and they were here to tell me exactly where I would be going and what I was going to be doing. My mom came out of the kitchen called up my brother's and sisters and asked me and the council to come in so that we could celebrate my birthday, I had no idea how she was going to explain the council to my brothers and sisters so it caught me off guard when we walked into the kitchen and she introduced them as family members who had come into town to celebrate my birthday with me. We all ate dinner had cake joked around and enjoyed ourselves,  the council members were quite sociable and funny I thought for sure they would be stuck up and full of themselves but they were cool. After a few hours of hanging out joking around and watching a few movies, my mom sent everyone up to take showers and get ready for bed Then she called me and the council members into her office to discuss a few things without the prying ears of my siblings. We walked in and everyone sat down it was almost like watching a complete transformation the funny sweet sociable council members completely gone and there instead were 12 very serious no-nonsense council members that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up
