The sun finally makes its way over the horizon line as the battleship USS Thunderbolt cuts through the water, sailing under a full head of steam. It must make it to its destination in time. Deep inside the ship, her crew makes ready for the upcoming battle. Machinery whirs in her 5 triple barrel turrets, each one swiveling and testing the hydraulics. The main turret is still having issues turning as fast as the others. As the sun comes up farther in the sky, deep, rugged scars can be seen across the metal surfaces, remnants of exploding shrapnel from a destroyed cruiser that blew up on the port side of the Thunderbolt.
Off in the distance, distant sounds of cannon fire can be heard, with the sound of metal hitting metal as rounds connect with enemy ships. As the ship gets closer, the hull starts to vibrate a little from all the shockwaves of full broadsides being launched every few seconds.
Inside the command deck, the captain stares out the window, his cigar laying unsmoked in the ashtray. His trained eyes look out upon the battle and sets upon a target. Upon his command, three of the five turrets rotate to face the target. The massive vessel shudders diagonally as her guns fire nine 16" projectiles downrange. The rounds explode on contact, dealing massive damage to the enemy ships turrets and engine systems, leaving it dead in the water.
