Dheya
As Dheya walked out of the hospital her phone beeped. She fished it out of her bag and read the message from B.
“W8ing in front of d corner café 2 hospital’s left”
She smiled and kept her phone back in her bag. She exited the hospital and walked towards the corner café and spotted the Tuscan wine Fiat Punto. She opened the front passenger door and slid inside. She smiled at him and leaned forward to kiss his cheek but he turned and smooched her hard on her lips. Dheya’s cheeks flushed red.
“You are looking very hot today love, I couldn’t stay away from you” he grinned.
“You look very dapper yourself Mr. Brijesh. I could hardly stop myself from looking at you. When I saw you, all I wanted to do is run up to you and be in your arms” she said.
He started driving with the grin still plastered on his face.
“Where do you want to go love?”
“Anywhere you take me darling” she said running her hands in his hair.
“How about a movie?” he suggested
“Sounds amazing dahling but today happens to be Saturday and I doubt if we will even be able to get a ticket”
“I have asked Lakeisha to call me when she wants me to pick her up. I am not sure how long I have or we could have gone for a long drive away from the city” he replied.
“How about we pick up some chilled beer and cigarettes and head to my room instead?”
“Lovely”
“You can also thank me as I have requested Avantika to stay in the hospital till 6 at least” she flicked her hair back with her hand and fixated her eyes on him.
“Have I told you how much I adore your superior intellect Dheya?”
Dheya hit his hand playfully. She kicked off her shoes and put up her feet on his dashboard.
“You have beautiful feet” he said.
She threw back her head and laughed. This is what she loved most about spending time with Brijesh. He made her feel like a diva. He knew exactly how to please her and put her on cloud nine. He stopped in front of a spirits store and asked Dheya to pick up the drinks. He would join her after picking up the cigarettes. Dheya picked up a siz pack of beer and spotted the wine section. She kept the bee back and headed to the wine section. She browsed through the labels and picked up four bottles of red wine and took them to the cash counter. She then went to the beer section where Brijesh joined her.
Dheya picked up a carton of beer which he carried to the cash counter. He paid the bill and carried the carton to his car while she carried the wine bottles. He started driving again and she was fiddling with the stereo. Dheya caught him staring at her and raised her eyebrows at him. He shook his head and continued driving. When she was satisfied with the playlist that was playing she leaned back into her seat.
Dheya though about the first time she had met Brijesh. Exactly five months ago when Lakeisha had asked all the girls to meet her. When all five girls were waiting in their favorite coffee shop Lakeisha had walked into the café with a tall, lean man who had muscles in all the right places. He sported a light stubble. His hair was slicked back and his face was smooth. He was wearing off-white chinos paired with a navy blue slim fit half sleeved casual shirt. He had tucked in his shirt and sported a tan belt. He walked into the café with his head held high and an air about him like he owned the place. He would have probably come across as arrogant but he bent down to hear Lakeisha’s words and looked towards the girls with his dazzling smiled. When Dheya saw him smile, her heart skipped a beat.
Lakeisha had introduced the handsome man as her fiancé and Dheya had muttered an angry curse to the fates. Dheya felt that Brijesh was far too handsome to be marrying someone like Lakeisha. Not that she considered Lakeisha to be ugly, she was beautiful but this man looked like a Greek God and she was too jealous that her friend was going to marry him while she could only admire him from afar. Dheya had congratulated them both and said: “You make a picture perfect couple”
Brijesh had taken all the girls to The Taj for dinner. Dheya could not help but be mesmerized by him. He looked refined and had fine taste. She could not resist such men. All the girls liked him instantly too and told Lakeisha that she was very lucky to have him as her husband. When he was out of earshot Dheya pulled Lakeisha closer and whispered “My goodness Lakeisha, he is such a hottie! You are one lucky girl.”
Lakeisha had laughed and replied “Finally my long wait for the right guy paid off and thank God Brijesh came along. Even I was tired of waiting for the right guy and would have settled for something less.”
“It has paid off big time indeed. I hope he is just as good as he looks”
“Oh he is so caring and charming; I just can’t believe I found someone like him finally.”
“I am so jealous of you girl. Really I am” Dheya said and Lakeisha had laughed.
