Pure-blooded vampires and hunters, who chased Antoine, already felt tired after a dozen or so fights with groups of turned vampires, the more so that they could not get on the trail of their leader. This led to an increasingly nervous and tense atmosphere between those two groups. Despite the once signed pact, pure-blood vampires treated their allies with a slight contempt for having to associate with humans. The hunters, on the other hand, looked at the dubious abilities of pure-blooded vampires with an unfavorable eye, since their behavior only indicated how seldom they had fought against wild, turned vampires so far, despite the fact that the pact clearly stated that they would cooperate at all times until the situation was fully under control.
