Chapter One: The Night Club - Markie

Standing on top of the building across the street from the night club, I know she comes here it was the only thing found of hers after the accident. I watch the glow of the head light reflected off the pavement thanks to the rain that happened earlier that day. I think back to that day of the accident she was smiling the hold time driving the car and she ran up off a cliff. I remember seeing her step out of the car without a scratch on her smiling at me, as I lay there bleeding left for day. I was in a coma for months with a 1% chance of survival,  the whole time I was in that coma I kept seeing flash of a life that wasn't mine of a girl in the 1800's the another in the 1500's she loves the same man each time. I don't know these women and how I am not seeing their lives. I know who can tell me what is happening her my so called friend I thought she was like me lonely in the world with no family. She befriended me stayed at my house all the while plotting to kill me, but I didn't die that faithful night and now she's going to answer my questions. I look at the night club entrance and I see her you couldn't miss Alanah she had hair so light its white and her fashion forward clothes I felt I was never graceful enough to wear, I used to envy her of that. She talked to the bouncer and he let's her in, I smile to myself as I jump down off the building landing on the balls of my feet. Thats something else thats happened sense the accident I have abilities now I can jump from tall building and not get a scratch on me, I can run fast, see better, so far no craving of blood. I've been coming to this night club for weeks the bouncer smiles at me and let's me in for a minute I lose sight of her then I see her walking up to two guys at the bar one had light brown hair he turns around and smiles at her giving her a hug. The other with jet black hair just ignores her I see her smile slip I laugh to myself seeing a guy immune to her charms. Finally his friend punches him and the arm and he turns I stop in my tracks its him the guy I keep seeing the girl fall in love with. He turns and looks straight at me with those blue eye any girl could get lost in, I see he's as shocked to see me as I am to see him. I bolt for the back door I know he is following me. I run to the alley of the building I hide on and scale the wall I see him come up and look every which way then look defeat and turn back to go to the club as he's walking in he looks up at the building I am on shakes his head and goes in. I let out a sigh my life just got more complicated.

I walk back to the house me and my two best friends are renting, I know the will have questions I can't answer but I love them like they are the siblings I never had. Me and Nate have been best friend sense we were in diapers, he's always been my defender and was first to help me when my grandpa died and I had no one. Sharron joined our group in middle school, I swear her and Nate have a secret thing for each other they just don't want me to know it for fear of me being mad. I wish they would just tell me already. As I'm walking up it starts a down pour again, great now I'm going to look like a drown cat along with everything else tonight. As I walk in Nate is in the living room with his laptop on his lap, he's a computer geek although he doesn't look a bit like you would expect one to look he's 6'4" dark blonde hair and baby blue eyes and he works out constantly I don't how he does it but he help me get my strength back after the accident.

I slam the door close he looks up and me the jumps out of his seat.

He yells "What the hell happened to you!?"

I hold my hands up and say "I know I know I look like a drowned cat right, the storm caught me just as I almost got here."

"Did you see Alanah?" He ask

"Yes." I say as I walk to the kitchen and glance at myself in the mirror, yep drowned cat what a night this has been as I make it to the fridge and grab a water as I turn around I run into Nate.

"Did you get her alone? Did you ask her what is going one?" Nate says

"No" I sigh and wait for it.

"WHAT? ...... We came all this way to confront her, to find out why she did it and you don't even ask her what the deal is!!!" 

I sigh and try to stop his ranting and pacing then finally I just yell the one thing that will make him stop.

"I saw him! Okay?!" I yell

He stops and looks at me confused "Him who?"

"Him him the man that I keep seeing the girl fall for everything. How is he here? There's no way its the man I've been seeing right?" I pace and took at Nate he has a quizzical look on his face and he's lost in thought.

"Hello Nate." I say waving my hand in his face finally be looks at me.

He says "Sorry I was lost in thought what were you saying?" 

I sigh and put my hands on my hips "It can't be him right?" 

He shakes his head and says "No, no way his just the accident you mind is playing tricks one you." He laughs "Maybe he's your soul mate or something and just keept putting him with other people." 

I punch him in the arm. "Thats not funny you butt. I feel crazy enough as it is." 

He hugs me and says "Its alright Markie you've been through alot recently, with loosing your grandpa and the accident maybe you would take a break on finding her for a bit." 

I sigh and hug him back feeling extremely tired I finally step back and look around noticing someone is missing. "Where's Sharon?"

He looks down and sighs "She had a date or something." 

I can see the hurt in his face I wish those two would get together alright I know they have feeling for one another. 

"I'm going to bed don't stay on your computer to long tonight." 

He waves from his seat back at the computer again, I shake my head as I head up stairs to my room. I shower and change then climb into bed. Why did he chase after me. Tomorrow I will go back and confront him see if maybe he knows what is going on with me.

Another Person POV

I am pacing the foyer waiting for her I know she will be here any minute I've already text her letting her know Markie is asleep. How could she let this happen? How could she be so stupid? We have one job and she knows that. As I turn to pace back I see her open the door and slip in.

I whisper yell "How could you let this happen? She saw him!"

She sighs and lowers her shoulders in defeat "I know I didn't know he was going to be there, but it gets worse." 

I throw my hands in the air and say "how could it be worse?"

"He saw he too, he chases after her." 

Oh no this is bad this is really bad everything we have done to try to protect her is over.

"He won't stop looking for her until he finds her. She's no longer safe." I sign 

She hits me and say "She lost her safely when that crazy birch tried to kill her. She's just like some of her abilities were coming in or she would be dead now." 

I sigh and give her a hug and a kiss "I know Sharron i know but I still feel this need to protect her."

She kisses me back "I know baby, but this time is different you know that you won't loose her like you have before." 

I nod and say "I know, I love you Sharron." 

She smiles "I love you too Nate.
