The Overarch’s Chariot cut through the ruined outskirts with dizzying speed, so fast the shattered plains of the Nexus of False Gods blurred into streaks of grey below. The ride felt less like movement and more like being pulled forward. Even without activating the Aura Conduit, The Lord felt the sheer emptiness of the land around him amplify his presence. As the ruined lands fell away behind them, a single structure dominated the horizon, growing larger with every passing heartbeat. The Grand Citadel. It didn’t look built. It looked uncovered—peeled out of existence itself. The divine-white stone it was carved from was so pure it absorbed the light around it, gleaming without ever shining. The Citadel was a massive, spinning ring hovering over a swirling pool of golden energy, a monument to rules older than memory. The Chariot slowed as it entered the main gate, and the very air seemed to freeze. Immediately The Lord stepped out of the chariot, he received a notification [DING!] [New Mission: Declaration] [Declaration: Successfully Declare Your City Sovereign] [Failure of this mission drops Divinity by level 1] [Note: City Gods are hostile to other kinds of gods] The Lord furrowed his brow instantly. The new mission had completely cut him off guard and he wished he had finished reading the System's guide. He didn't let his shock affect his movement as he kept walking towards the Citadel with his head help up high Inside, the hall opened into a vast circular chamber. Platforms of floating crystal drifted in the air like lazy moons, each one occupied by a lounging deity. They were the Sovereign gods, ancient rulers, dripping with casual power. Their mere presence bent the air. Every gaze snapped to The Lord the moment he stepped forward, Michael matching his stride, Lucifer’s silent heat following close behind. [Aura Authentication begins…] [Divinity Authentication begins…] … [Aura Authentication passed, you are free from all effects] [Divinity Authentication passed, you are free from all effects] “All effects?” The Lord wondered. The instant their gaze landed on him, he got spammed with tens of authentication, if he had failed, that is the end of his whole mission. He could hear the shift of Michael’s wings folding tightly, the soft crackle of restrained energy from Lucifer, he even felt the Overarch’s Blade get heavier. The system had warned him. He acted like nothing happened and took a step forward. Then the whispers began. “What abomination is this? Only sovereign gods are allowed on the Citadel.” “A Wandering God? Here? Is this a joke to you?” A massive, stone-skinned deity barked a laugh that shook dust from the rafters. “You have no banner, You have no emblem, you have no seat here” “He shouldn’t even be breathing our air.” Michael bristled, wings twitching with the urge to defend his creator but he was still pinned down by their aura. Lucifer only smiled, thin and cold, as if daring one of them to step down and repeat those words to his face. The Lord didn’t look at any of them. He walked straight down the center of the mirrored floor, authentication keep spamming him but his SSS rank attributes is enough to stop them At the hall’s far end, seated on a raised dais, loomed the Judge-God, carved like a monument to law long forgotten. He stared down with the dispassionate eyes of someone who had weighed thousands of beings and found most wanting. The Lord stopped at the base of the dais, raising his chin. “I have come to register my City.” "Hahahaha” The Judge-God laughed, causing a wave of mockery rolled across the chamber so forcefully that Michael took half a step back from the shock. The Judge-God slammed his crystalline scepter against the dais and the hall instantly silenced “Impossible,” he said, voice flat and final. “A sovereign city demands three immutable requirements. One: a Domain. Two: a stable core of worship. Three: a recognized deity.” His stone face bent into something resembling a smirk. “You possess none. You have no standing.” “If you have a city, you can serve one of these sovereign gods and work your way up” the Judge-God gestured behind but The Lord didn’t look. “I want to register my City sovereign” he repeated, his stern gaze unwavering. “You don't have a city” a familiar voice boomed in the air “just yesterday you were begging me for Xylos” Kealan mocked causing another round of laughter “Oh I have a city and you all know it” The Lord replied without paying attention to Kealan. He raised his head high and locked eyes with the Judge-God. The Judge-God hesitated for a bit “it can't be” he shook his head The lord didn't reply. He kept his gaze and a smirk curled yo his face “The new awakened city belongs to you?” the Judge-God questioned “Impossible!” “How can a weak a*s god like you awaken a city? Do not waste our time here” Voices ranged through the hall “Even if that were true” the Judge-God said looking beyond The Lord and scanning Micheal and Lucifer, “you still possess none of the remaining two requirements. By what power do you wish to declare your city domain?” The Lord’s answer rolled out calmly, a simple truth that shook the hall. “By My Will.” The hall felt the urge to mock again but feeling the tense atmosphere between The Lord and The Judge-God, the held back Then a streak of violent blue cut through the air, crackling lightning twisting around a descending figure. Kealan landed with the force of a thunderclap. Young, volatile, crackling with electric pride, he held his spear with arrogance. “There's only one other way to become a sovereign god; defeat a Sovereign God. I Kealan, lord of Azure challenge you to a Trial of Dominion” Kealan challenged, stomping his spear Cheers erupted. This was a spectacle. This was a blood sport they don't get to see everyday The Judge-God drew a smile on his face “you think your will is enough? Here's your chance “Accepted,” The Lord said. “Hmph, you sicken me” Kealan growled The Judge-God stood from his seat “You know the rules, you fight as a god, not a City God. All your abilities as a city God as restricted. Let the battle…Begin” Kealan didn’t wait. He vanished in a flash of lightning and reappeared overhead, spear already descending. [Temporary Restriction: Divinity Regeneration] Reading the system's notification didn't slow him down, The Lord’s SSS Agility responded instantly. The Lord moved swiftly to evade the spear but Kealan wasn’t merely fast, he was practiced, and experienced born from centuries of combat. The spear struck the Overarch’s Armor in a booming c***k that echoed like a collapsing star. [Damage Received; Overarch’s Armor resistance; Damage mitigated; 50% damage received] [HP: 8623/10,000] [Slightly Wounded Status: HP drops by 1 every second] [Kinetic Feedback activated; Agility increase by 30%] Without reading the message, The Lord knew he was damaged. He had no time to read the messages as a howl in the air signalled an incoming attack The Kinetic Feedback pulsed through The Lord’s limbs, giving him a burst of speed that let him roll sideways, dodging the attack, but Kealan pursued relentlessly. Lightning filled the arena, forcing The Lord into rapid, reactive movements. A jab. A teleport. A shockwave. Lightning wrapped the space, sharp and unpredictable. Every spear strike landed only a step away from the Lord. Until… Kealan's spear shaft slammed into The Lord’s chest, followed by the crushing force of an electric burst, pushing him to one knee. The crowd laughed, the sound rolling like thunder in a canyon. The focus is now on the fight freeing the angels from the pin. Michael stepped forward in panic only for Lucifer to stop him with a firm grip. “Watch,” Lucifer murmured, eyes gleaming with a dangerous confidence. “My Lord isn’t fighting yet. He’s learning.” A whisper from the system: [Kinetic Feedback deactivated] [Damage Received; Overarch’s Armor resistance; Damage mitigated; 75% damage received] [HP: 6635/10,000] [Moderately Wounded Status: HP decrease by 3 every second] [Force Healing activated] [Force Healing: At the expense of your Divinity, HP regenerate by 100 every second] Seeing his target down on his feet, Kealan slowed down “you think you can beat me?” He screamed The Lord rose, blood sliding down his cheek in a luminous streak. Pain sharpened his awareness. His grip on the Overarch’s Blade tightened. Kealan surged forward, lightning trailing behind him like a comet. The Lord swung. Not fast. Not desperate. Just deliberate. CRACK. The resonance tore through the arena—deep, horrible, unnatural. Kealan staggered, hands clutching his head as his divine shields flickered violently. [Echoing Judgment Successful: Target has been distracted] [Scanning for weak spots…] The distraction was less than a second but that was enough for the system “What—what is that?” Kealan felt disoriented but refocused immediately The Lord stepped forward and struck again. CRACK. [Echoing Judgment Successful: Target has been distracted] [Scanning for weak spots…] [Weakest Spot Detected: Neck] Kealan’s eyes drifted again but he quickly refocused. “Arghhh” he screamed as he charged forward, his spear ahead The Lord gripped his sword and lunged forward CRACK. Kealan was only distracted for a millisecond but that was enough. The lord jumped and rolled sideways mid air, the spear that was aiming for his chest was now aiming for his leg. He didn't care, he wouldn't dodge. He focused all his power in that one strike then SOU!! BAM!! The Lord’s blade slashed through Kealan’s neck while his spear hit the Lord’s leg , both of them crashing to the ground instantly. [Damage Received; Overarch’s Armor resistance; Damage mitigated; 90% damage received] [Overarch’s Armor is Damaged] [HP: 3583/10,000] [Lethally Wounded Status: HP drops by 7 every second] [Kinetic Feedback Activated: Agility increased by 50%] [Damage Dealt; External Defense Resistance; 80% damage mitigated, Weakest Spot Damaged (×2); 40% Damage Dealt] [Weakest Spot: Target is immobile for 5 seconds] That was all he needed. Coupled with [Kinetic Feedback], The Lord was unstoppable. It took less than a second to appear before Kealan and even lesser for every strike SLASH! SLASH!! SLASH!!! Every s***h directed at kealan's neck. Notification spammed the Lord’s sight as he slashed but he wouldn't stop. “Enough!” The Judge-God's voice rang. A wave of energy crash into The Lord pushing away from Kealan “You don't kill a god in the Grand Citadel” …[Damage Dealt; External Defense Resistance; 80% damage mitigated, Weakest Spot Damaged (×2); 40% Damage Dealt] [Weakest Spot: Target is immobile for 5 seconds] [Damage Dealt; External Defense Resistance; 80% damage mitigated, Weakest Spot Damaged (×2); 40% Damage Dealt] [Weakest Spot: Target is immobile for 5 seconds]... [Incoming Wave Attack] [Strength Authentication Failed] [You are Disoriented!] The system explained why the wave blasted him away but what caught his attention more was Kealan’s defence resistance. Through all the strikes, it mitigated 80%of the damage. If not for the weak spot effect, Kealan wouldn't even feel it. “I'm way weaker” The Lord faced the harsh truth as he scanned the hall looking at the other gods Silence fell, total and absolute. The Judge-God stared down in disbelief. “The Trial… is fulfilled. By victory… your City is recognized. You must now name your City ” The Lord reminiscence over how great his city was when he woke up, only one word came to his mind “Heaven!’ He pronounced A gentle chime echoed in The Lord’s mind: [Mission Complete] [City Status: Sovereign] [Title Earned: The Lord of Heaven] [The Lord of Heaven: 500% increase to all attributes, skills and effects when inside Heaven] The Lord stood in the center of the arena, surrounded by deities who moments earlier mocked him. When his gaze landed on them, some withered, some gazed back, some grinned. However, no one knew how he defeated Kealan Michael knelt. Lucifer bowed deeply, a dark, triumphant smile stretching across his face. The Lord lifted his gaze, letting the silence settle into awe. Then he spoke, softly, “Now… who among you will deny My name?”
