Days flew by quickly and soon it’d been a month since I last saw…..my mates. My wolf, Kiana, whined and threw a fit at the distance and my stubbornness to accept the mate bond, but I wasn’t backing down. I was not going to be mated to enemies.
The Council leaders summoned me for a meeting so I headed towards the Packs council chamber. Once inside I sat at the head of the table, my Beta Rowan at my side.
Finally, Elder Garrick, the oldest and loudest of them, cleared his throat.
“Luna Amara,” he began, tone heavy with disapproval, “we’ve received… troubling reports.”
“About what Elder? Is one of the neighboring packs disturbing us?” I asked with genuine curiosity.
Elder Mira, one of the few I actually respected, leaned forward. “The reports say you’ve found your mates. Is that true?”
The room went still.
I folded my hands on the table. “It is.”
“And yet,” Garrick said, “you haven’t accepted them.”
My jaw tightened. “Correct again.”
He frowned. “Then you understand our concern. A Luna cannot lead a pack alone indefinitely. Without an Alpha or mates by her side, your position…”
“My position,” I cut in, “is earned, not borrowed.”
Several elders exchanged looks.
“Amara,” Mira said gently, “you’ve done well, exceptionally well, but you must see reason. The pack needs stability.”
“Stability?” I laughed once, sharp. “You mean a man.”
“Luna…” Garrick started.
“No, let’s say it plain,” I snapped, standing. “You think I can’t lead because I don’t have a mate beside me. Because I’m only a woman. But tell me, who kept this pack together after my father died? Who rebuilt the borders you all swore were lost? Who negotiated peace with the southern packs last winter?”
No one answered.
“That’s right,” I said, voice rising. “Me. I did. So forgive me if I don’t think a pair of Alphas, who happen to be my enemies, suddenly make me more ‘fit’ to lead.”
Elder Mira sighed “Well we have to put the future of the pack into consideration and the moon goddess might stop blessing and protecting us if you keep being hard headed. We’re giving you an ultimatum.”
“What?!…..an Ultimatum?” I asked stunned.
“Yes, an ultimatum,” Garrick said firmly. “You have until the next full moon to accept your mates or the council will appoint a new leader to lead the pack.”
My heartbeat thudded in my ears. “You can’t be serious.”
Mira’s tone softened. “It’s not a punishment, Amara. It’s what’s best for CrescentFang. We can’t risk losing the Moon Goddess’s favor.”
“So that’s it?” I said, glaring at the room. “You’d strip your Luna of her title because she refuses to chain herself to men she doesn’t even trust?”
Elder Garrick’s gaze was unyielding. “You have one moon cycle. Choose wisely.”

I paced the balcony of my office, the moonlight washing over me in silver light. Kiana, my wolf, growled in my head.
We can’t keep fighting them all, Amara. The twins are our mates.
“Don’t start,” I muttered. “I’d rather step down than let them control me.”
You don’t have to submit. You could outsmart them.
That made me pause. Outsmart them…
An idea formed in my, dangerous and reckless, but maybe my only chance.
I paced for a moment, then grabbed my jacket. “Fine,” I muttered. “If the Moon Goddess wants to play games, I’ll play smarter.”
The night air bit at my skin as I left CrescentFang territory, heading straight for the one place I swore I’d never go again, SilverClaw Pack.
To see them.
To see my mates.
***
The SilverClaw Pack grounds were eerily quiet when I arrived.
Wolves moved out of my way as I passed through, their gazes dropping the moment I met their eyes. Guess word traveled fast, CrescentFang’s Luna was here.
The doors to the Alpha Hall swung open before I could knock.
And there they were.
Kael. Elian.
Both shirtless, both glistening with sweat from training. My wolf almost drooled at the sight.
“Well, well,” Elian drawled, leaning against a pillar. “If it isn’t the runaway Luna.”
Kael’s golden eyes flicked over me slowly, deliberately. “To what do we owe the pleasure?”
I folded my arms. “Don’t flatter yourselves. I’m not here for pleasure.”
“That’s a shame,” Elian murmured with a smirk. “We were hoping you changed your mind.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m here to make a deal.”
That got Kael’s attention. He stepped closer, muscles flexing. “A deal?”
I nodded. “The CrescentFang council thinks I can’t lead without a mate. They’re threatening to strip my title unless I ‘accept the bond.’”
“So?” Kael asked, voice low. “You’re thinking of accepting us?”
“Don’t get excited,” I shot back. “I said pretend.”
Elian raised a brow. “Pretend?”
“Yes.” I met both their gazes. “We fake it. For two Full moon cycles. We act like I’ve accepted the bond publicly. After that, we go back to being enemies.”
Kael crossed his arms, eyes narrowing. “And what do we get out of this?”
This was the hard part, I didn’t know anything I could offer them in return so I decided to give them the one thing I knew they wouldn’t resist.
“Me. You get to do whatever you want to me, whenever you want.”
They both looked at each other and grinned mischievously. Elian walked to the door and turned the lock with an air of finality that sent shivers down my spine.
“We Accept your offer Luna.” He said as he slowly made his way towards me.
Kael stood too and also started making his way to the middle of the room where I stood.
“But…Before we go ahead with your plan Luna, we want a taste of what you’re offering.” Kael smirked, grabbing my waist and pushing me against his bare chest.
“No…..No, uhm we have to….” I stuttered, my heat racing inside my chest as heat started to pool low in my belly.
“Shhh Luna.” Elian said from behind me. As he took off my jacket and lifted my gown above my head. I stood completely naked, my n*****s brushing up against Kael’s Chest.
“Get on your Knees.” Elian commanded behind me and I obeyed, my cunt dripping from the tension.
