Jack needed to check in with Lindsay to make plans for the afternoon interview at the Lakeville Examiner, the lone surviving printed newspaper in the area.
“Hi, Jack.” Lindsay’s distracted tone told Jack he had interrupted the family’s morning routine.
Jack could make out Robin Revelle’s voice in the background ushering their kids off to school. “Is this a bad time?” he asked politely.
“Nope, just the normal morning routine at the Revelles’. Actually your call probably gets me out of dishes duty.”
“I trust you aren’t calling to ask for a raise just ’cause we won.” Lindsay teased.
“Based on the size of the campaign bank account, you sure couldn’t finance it anyway,” Jack said.
“Now that we have the preliminary pleasantries out of the way, what can I do for you, Jack?”
