CHAPTER 6
On Monday morning, Jack gave himself about an hour to tie things up before heading to Chicago for the Consolidated Foods meeting. He’d found Peter and the other four McKay & Associates staff members of the presentation team in the conference room polishing up their discussion points.
He was greeted with a “morning, Jack” in unison.
“Hello, everyone. Are we about ready?”
“The presentation’s ready. How about the presenter?” Peter said, only half kidding.
Jack sat at Peter’s laptop and clicked through the slides of the pitch presentation. Finishing, he said, “Good to go. Nice work. Just the right mix of grounded down-home expertise and cosmopolitan savvy. Who’s riding with whom?”
“Jack and I have some stuff to go over. You four ride together,” Peter insisted.
