CHAPTER 29 Jack watched the sun come up after a restless, mostly sleepless night. Unfortunately, the morning brought no relief. He did, however, decide what to do next. “Roberta Martin,” Bobbie said, answering her private line. “Hi, Bobbie. It’s Jack McKay.” “Is this another plea on Mickey’s behalf?” “No, this time it’s on my behalf.” Jack then proceeded to tell her all that had transpired along with the theories as to why the Party was behind it, and the fallout for all concerned: his daughter, his business, Lindsay’s campaign, and so on. “Jack, I’m so sorry about this.
