Chapter 4;Ferd Saves Derl.
Ferd got in his car and drove out. A few metres from the stadium, he started feeling more and more of the new energy surge in his body. He was transforming. He didn’t know whether to accept the new version or deny and fight it out. He didn't even know whether he could do that either. Something inside him felt alive after a sleep of many years. He could feel the strong fight between the one he knows, and the new him.
He felt uncomfortable because he couldn't control the fight. He couldn't do a thing anyway so he just imagined the worthy winner. That caused more havoc in him. He started feeling the pain of partition. He couldn’t enjoy the manual ride anymore. He switched to the automatic drive mode.
“Where is your destination boss?” The car’s AI asked to know the destination. He didn't even know where. He almost believed the fact that he didn’t belong in this world. Strangely that made the fight stop for a while, then resurfaced but with little effect in his mind. “ Take me somewhere anaesthetic.” He said. “ I have options for you.” Raw, the car’s AI said displaying a map with different aesthetic spots on the hologram. “Take me anywhere best.” Ferd said. He didn't want to think. “And don't expose my whereabouts.” He commanded as he went to sleep.
Meanwhile Sunler and Lizer drove in Sunler's car. They were curiously following behind Ferd. They wanted to know where Ferd was going but he seemed to have stopped driving by himself. The car was making perfect turns. “He seems to be asleep.” Lizer said. Sunler tried contacting the car but it was offline. Suddenly the car accelerated .Within seconds it was out of their sight. Lizer was disappointed. He knew Ferd wanted to be alone. That's why he left so fast. He probably commanded the car to hide his location.
After losing Sunler and Lizer. The car slowed down. It was now approaching a little market. It was at that range that Ferd woke up. He sighed and got hold of the wheel. Raw turned off the auto-drive as its boss wished. As soon as they entered the market, a yell of a woman in despair split the atmosphere.
“Help me! I'm burning out! Help me!” some woman shouted from a parcel post. Ferd turned and drove towards the place as fast as he could. Suddenly the building blasted, sending the contents flying in the air violently. The woman who had managed to open the door which had trapped him inside was also sent flying in the air. Ferd felt the urge to run and save the woman from the crash. A surge of power he had never experienced before travelled through his veins. He found himself running at an unimaginable speed towards the falling body. At the same time his arms venated with blue glowing outlines, his eyes and hair also glowed blue. Everything moved so slowly in his view.
Ferd hovered up to the point where the woman was. With zest and ease, he grabbed the woman saving her from the crash. Everything happened so fast that even Ferd was shocked. It was so silent in the worlds of these two even though the environment was filled with noises of “How could he do that?... He saved the girl from the blast.”
Ferd felt something new in him. It seemed to rejoice his act, he even felt some hungry lust but that was dismissed by another feeling of ‘you are awake’. He could feel his eyes glow blue and a warm feeling on his head as if his hair was burning. His body crackled with some unnoticeable blue lightning arcs For a moment he thought of himself as a superhero. ‘That’s fantasy!’ he couldn’t believe what he saw and just did.
The woman’s eyes displayed fear. Ferd was still holding her after slowly descending down. The woman looked into the eyes of her saviour with solemness. She felt a strange comfort in the arms of this man though. The man looked into her eyes. He seemed to be fixed on the reflection of his own blue glowing iris and hair. The woman found it hard to believe she saw something real. Suddenly she called out involuntarily. “Ferd.” The man looked at her surprised. She had called him by the name Maul mentioned to her. She seemed to wonder if it was him. “Ferd it’s you. Am not insane right?”
Ferd looked at the woman wondering how she knew him. “Are you hurt?” he asked, ignoring the woman's question. His sound had deepened beautifully. He liked it himself. “No. I am okay.” The woman murmured. “You're safe now.” Ferd said, putting her down to his feet.
Ferd started walking away. “Ferd!” the woman called him back. She wasn’t willing to let him go yet. Ferd stopped and looked back through the corners of his eyes. “Are you…..Ferd?” The woman asked again the second time. This time Ferd realised the crowd around them. He wanted to get out of those eyes and find a lonely aesthetic place. That was the only way he could get over everything right now and start thinking straight.
The woman’s sound overcame her judging and he found himself turning towards her. “How did you know me?” He asked unwillingly. “We need to talk.” She said ignoring his question. This time she walked towards him. Ferd didn't move. The woman got hold of his right hand. Ferd could feel a strange surge of energy through his arm up his body. He instinctively withdrew it. “What was that?” He asked. “We need to talk.” the woman said, “Trust me.”
