Chapter 2

Two months later, both Kurt and Carrie already for their wedding. But now they need to prepare first since they didn’t something ye. Obviously, they always have fun both daytime and nighttime. And it’s possibly that Carrie will get pregnant. It’s been a long time they know each other. Kurt meet Carrie in a park since Carrie was asked him. Carrie has something good news to tell about him. Maybe, Kurt will get surprised either. As he walk through the park, he already see Carrie on the edge near the seesaw, waving and smiling at him. Carrie give him a sweet hug and a kiss on his lips.

“I’m excited to know that good news.” He said and hold Carrie’s hand going to the bench.

“Actually, Kurt. I’m afraid to tell it you since. But I think I should. I’m going to tell you that I’m pregnant two months already.” She smiled. But she stop when she saw Kurt’s face turn into sad.“Are you not surprised?” she added, tapped Kurt’s shoulder since he was not on his mind right now. He think too deep.

“AH…Actually, I’m happy.” He forcingly smiled.

“But, I think it’s different you get happy and surprised.” She get upset.

“No. I’m surprised that’s why I don’t know what to do and what to react. It’s because I’m so happy for your good news. I’m already a father.” He hugged Carrie. She doesn’t even feel on how Kurt get surprised. She feel that Kurt are not ready for having a baby or to be a father. She think that Kurt was force to accept the baby. She give her fake smile when Kurt hug her.

“Actually, Kurt last night I have a nightmare.” She stepped back to face Kurt clearly and to stay away for his hugged.

“What is that?” he asked.

“Nadia, is going after us. She killed our baby after knowing that we’re together. She take some revenge after fooling her. But Kurt, Nadia is already dead. And she will never come anymore right?” she get scared.

“Yes. She’s already dead. Carrie, don’t mind her anymore. It was just a nightmare and it will never come true. Trust me. You are safe. Since—you can now leave with me. Let’s stay together in one wall. I have to take care of you since you’ll be my wife. Few days to go, it’s our wedding already.”

“But I think, Nadia show herself on my dream to take revenge because she don’t want that both of us get married.”

“No, don’t say that. Don’t mean it. Don’t tell me you will reject our wedding and kill that baby just because of that nonsense things.”

“No, it doesn’t what I mean. Kurt, listen. It’s me Carrie, I love you so much. I never reject our wedding. Maybe, Nadia want to represent herself through myself.”

“What? Nadia died one month ago. I already forget about her already and I don’t want to recall or remember about her. I can’t endure it. Please, Carrie. You should listen. You want let have some fun together not to have a nightmare again?” he’s getting mad.

“I’m so sorry. I just share on what I feel right now. Sorry, I understand you.” she pardon.

“I’m so sorry.” He hugged Carrie as accepting both apologize.

Luke keeps on searching to his friend Kylie. It’s been a long time she run away. He worried of about her because she planned to take revenge. All that she knows are all vulnerable and risky. He need to inform them. He already informed and contact all the cops to find her before it’s too late. All the Police was on their responsibilities to find her but it’s been a long time as well that they don’t have any information about her. Until he meet Kurt. “It’s been a long time we didn’t meet each other. Actually, I was worried about you since after Kylie escape from the jail. I just want to ask if you have some information about her.” Luke said sip his coffee. They are in a coffee shop. Its night, expected that there’s too many customers but unfortunately not its few sine it’s raining outside. Kurt wear his own coat, while Luke his naked-fit coat. Both handsome who meet today. Only Kurt are getting married. Why, Luke didn’t so? He’s handsome enough to find woman who is beautiful. But why? Is he not ready, is it? “I have send five cops from different places around the country, I contacted already all the police station to find her. But it’s been a long time there’s no any information about her I receive.” Kurt put his right palm on his face and stared the coffee-evaporating.

“Actually, I’m also here to tell you that you need to leave and bring Carrie. It’s pretty sure that she is just around and watching us, we just don’t know. I’ve meet her, and she said she will going to take revenge. I know very much Kylie that she hated you so much. I’m just worried if she will take revenge on you.”

“Not really. I’m not afraid to her. I can fix her with my own hands. I’m sure hundred percent that I am safe enough with Carrie. Not to offend to your friend Nadia. Actually, I can turn back the time when she still alive. We can’t predict everything and we can’t control our emotions. We’re both man, I know if you get sad and sorrow you will find someone that can sustain your happiness and love. You do the same as well Luke.”

Luke, get irritated but he control it by folding his both hands under the table, so Kurt won’t able to see it. “Actually, Kurt I’m happy for you because there’s no such thing you get affected on her death—

Kurt insisted. “No, you don’t know me on how I feel during the time I lost her. I suffered so much, but she never care of me. She never come back to see me. But what happened? She leave me without saying goodbye.”

“Nadia, give her last message for you before she died. She told that, you have to find your true happiness to another. She apologize that she can’t sustain what you need since she’s weak—

Kurt insisted again but this time he get mad. “Then, why you didn’t tell me all about it?”

“I’m so sorry, I don’t want to hurt you. Since it is the right time to tell it to you because I know you can control your emotions. Kurt, I know you are happy with Carrie. Pursue what you dream together. I’m proud of you because you getting married to her. Promise, I will come to your wedding as you best-man.”

“Actually, still the pain is in my heart. Not every night I have think of her, but there’s time. I tried to control it since I can’t bring it back anymore. Carrie is pregnant—

“What?” he insist. The shocked on his face was painted. He can’t imagine that Carrie get pregnant. How Kurt really sure that baby on her womb is on him. Carrie and Luke have s*x as well, and hundred percent that Carrie will get pregnant on that incident since Luke force himself to inject his sperms inside to her. Gosh, a confidential secret that should be keep.

“Why are you that shocked? Is there something problem about it?”

“No. I’m just happy because you are now getting a husband and a father. But me still a single guy.”

“Haha…you can find yours just wait. I think it is better than mine because you are good.” He laughed.

“It should be.” He laughed as well.

Tomorrow is Kurt Joaquin and Carrie Kuda’s wedding. This time they have prepare themselves for tomorrow’s events. Since they are getting married obviously they live together, and spend time better. Kurt was on his rocking chair, fronting the sea breeze, while facing his Laptop, he have watch some videos that made him laughed. Carrie was on the room preparing her long-gown for their wedding. She smiled while staring to her amazing and gorgeous dress. But that smile’s fade. She imagine about Nadia. She imagine Nadia on how it stared at her with a fierce look and getting mad to her. Yes, she’s hallucinating. It’s normal because it’s side effect as pregnant. She exit on her room and went to the kitchen and drink a glass of water. She seated and fold her head. “Arghh.” She moaned when she feel pain on her head. But Kurt didn’t notice of what happen to her.

Her phone ringing, she answered it when she read the contact name on the top, “Luke”. She answered it quietly so Kurt won’t able to hear them. “Hello, why are you calling?” while she covered her mouth and minimize her voice.

“Let’s meet. There’s something I want to clarify with you.”

“No, I’m busy today. Tomorrow is our wedding and we have to prepare for it.”

“Just for a while. I’m here in the Bonsang River near in your house. I’m waiting for you.”

“You can speak it to me here in the call. I can’t go out because I’m sure Kurt will not allow me, he is here.”

“No, I want to see your face as well. Please, I’m begging for you. Just five minutes.”

“Ugh, okay I will try. Just wait.” She turned off the call and put her phone under the table. She went to Kurt tamely. She doubted to approach him. But still she force herself. “Kurt, I just want to go out. Just for five minutes. There’s something I want to buy.”

“I can go with you.” still focusing on the vide he have watch.

“No need, I can do it either. Just continue watching that video.”

“Sure?”

“Sure.” She hugged him and kiss on his face and leave. She quickly walked to the Bonsang River to meet Luke. Actually, it’s seven minutes if you walk it. There, she found a red-shinny car and Luke was leaning on it, crossing his arm. He’s wearing his turtle-brown neck shirt. Carrie walked closer to him.

“Hey, just five minutes.” Carrie said and lean herself as well on the car.

Luke stared on her womb. “Is that Kurt’s baby, or not?”

“What do you mean?” Carrie stared to him.

“I just want to make sure if that is Kur’s baby or mine.”

Carrie shocked of what Luke spit out. “What? Are you getting crazy?—

He insisted. “No, I just want to make sure if that is mine. Because hundred percent, that baby is mine. Did you remember of what happened to us before?”

Carrie slapped his face, and she’s trying to leave but Luke stop her by holding her left-hand. “We’re not yet done. Or else I’m going to spit it out in front of him. Mind me, I will do it either.”

“Do it, or else I’m going to kill you or the baby.” She’s trying to get off her hand but Luke hold it tightly. “It’s hurt,” she added. She’s getting mad right now.

“You can’t leave me unless you will tell the truth.” He shouted.

“There’s no truth. Please leave me now.”

“That is my baby. Don’t you dare to kill that baby or else I’m going to reveal the truth with Kurt. Since he know already that you are pregnant and he believe that it is him.”

“If I’m going to tell you the truth that it is your baby, will you leave me? And don’t reveal yourself anymore.”

“Why you keep it?”

“Did I know that it is your baby? Actually, Kurt and I have s*x and it’s possible that it is his baby as well.”

“No. After delivering that baby, I want to take the DNA. To make sure that baby is mine.” He throw her hand and went inside on his car and leave.

Carrie fix herself before she leave. She’s getting irritated, going back to their house.

A woman wear her dress for her wedding. The man wear his coat. Getting married, is uneasy task for both man and woman since they take both responsibility in the family. Unless both of them are strong to endure the pain and face each challenges. They are divine to take care of themselves. Carrie is pregnant, and there’s no reason anymore that Kurt will leave her. There’s a fruit of their love and they have to pick it and share together. But, still Kurt didn’t know the truth behind on it. But what if Kurt know it? Is he will accept it even its hurt? Or reject Carrie and all the vows that they promise in front of the altar? But it is just the way either, since Carrie didn’t find ways on when to tell it and how. She love Kurt so much and she don’t want to lose it, at the first place.

The bride walk on the aisles, slowly through the altar. Wearing the wedding gown, holding the bunch of flower, and a veil on her head. A sweet smile she put on her face going to the altar. She feel nervous, seeing the people around her, staring at her and the groom who is in the top waiting for her. Getting married is sacred, they should take for granted on it. “I do.” The common words being spoke during taking vows. And followed by KISS the BRIDE. Everyone are applauding, and cheering for both of them. Taking picture after the mass wedding.

The wedding banquet was held on the Turkish Hotel, a famous hotel in the country. Over hundred plus who are in the event. Mostly are their friends, relatives, and family. They are happy, eating together and drinking wine. They have their dance, and message for the bride and the groom. Each give their inspirational talk for them before the bride and groom share their message and story about them as well. The bride and the groom, seated in the center just like a king and queen and those who will give their message is on the center fronting them. A beautiful and big chandelier on the top-center gives light-different color and stunning, gorgeous and handsome wearing their formal attire. It doesn’t look like a wedding anymore, its look like a ball. “Everyone, listen up. The crowd is open for us to give message to the newly couple. You can express your heartfelt gratitude to them.” A MC profess. Then, one by one going in front having their message. Some are getting nervous and laugh when they front the mic and face the couple who are smiling at them.

A woman wearing a black-coat walking from the dark to the aisle that caught everyone’s attention. Everyone, look strange to her, since they didn’t recognize the face because the hood of a jacket covered to it. The lights focus on her going to the microphone. Carrie, as being curious she stood up from her sit and Kurt stop her when he expect she will approach the woman. The surroundings was in silence. The disco music was off, and the blinking lights was in focus already. Everyone, are getting nervous and panic because they thought to that woman is a criminal or killer. Some are hugging to their love ones, some are getting closer to each other. “Miss, who are you? Are you going to give your message to them?” a MC speak.

Everyone didn’t recognize her that’s is why they stared to her badly. Staring her face too much, since they can’t see it because it was covered. Kurt, look familiar to the woman. He try to approach the woman but Carrie stop him. “No, stay here. We don’t know if she is harmful.” Carrie worried.

Kurt get the microphone from the MC. “Miss, kindly reveal yourself to us. We can’t recognize you if you keep on covering yourself.”

The woman, slowly take off her coat. Still the light focus on her, so everyone will see it clearly. As she take off the coat. Everyone surprised and shocked as they recognize the woman. Kurt and Carrie didn’t know what to do. They just stared the woman badly. The woman in a black-coat is NADIA KING. She smiled as she reveal herself. Have a glance around her. And stared at Carrie and Kurt sweetly and badly. “Nadia?” Carrie thought by herself. Carrie hold Kurt tightly like she saw a ghost in her front. Yes, they thought she is a ghost or the reincarnation because they thought from a long time that Nadia was passed away already. That’s why they are getting scared and panic. Nadia, walk closer to the microphone and stress herself. “I’m back, everyone.” She smiled. “It’s not true that I’m already died for a long time. And I hated those who spread the news. Listen, everyone. I’m completely alive. I’m not a ghost or a reincarnation. Thanks God, because He keep me alive. I am happy to see this time. Tonight, is Carrie and Kurt’s wedding right? How come? Please answer me.” she added.

No one ever answers her. They just stared each other, nodding. “Kurt, answer me.” she stared Kurt badly.

Carrie shed her tears, shaking her knees and hold Kurt tightly. But Kurt didn’t know what to say and what to do, he just held the microphone on his mouth and speak. “Why are here?” he simply said.

“I thought, you were marry me. I thought you will continue our wedding that was stopped because of me. Yeah, it’s my fault but I never meant it on our wedding. Kurt, you said to me that I am your happiness instead of Carrie. I hated that woman who is with you. How dare you, Carrie.” She shouted.

“Stop it.” Kurt shouted back.

Nadia stared at Kurt, she is just surprised when Kurt shouted at her because it’s her first time. Everyone are murmuring. “You want me to stop it because of that girl?” she point Carrie who is continue on sobbing. “That woman who tell you to forget me and spread the fake news about me.” she added.

“No, she didn’t. Sorry, Nadia. Sorry for fooling you. Actually, I love Carrie so much than you.” his heart skip tightly as he spit those words that is not supposed to be. He regretted so much, just like he want to run and hug Nadia after seeing her. Actually, he miss so much Nadia as he see it right now.

“I know you, Kurt. You just speak it all because you don’t want Carrie put in shamed in front of everyone. You don’t want to hurt her. It’s okay. Still the woman that make your heart beats is me and no other than. Actually, congratulations your father is still alive. And you can see him this time.” Everyone stared near at the entrance, seeing and staring Kurt’s father walking through Nadia. Kurt, didn’t stop his emotions. He burst it out and cried. “Your father is my wedding gift for you. Hope you will take care of him. So it won’t happen again.” Nadia smiled while shedding her tears. She wipe it out and hugged Kurt’s father. Everyone are getting emotional, some are crying and some are taking video of them. Kurt put the microphone on the table and run to his father and hug it, sobbing.

Nadia walked to leave. She don’t want to see Kurt anymore after fooling her and after hurting her. She expected so much to him. She thought, Kurt is waiting for her. But it’s not, Kurt doesn’t wait for her anymore. He is with another woman that she hated the most. She walked while sobbing. She never thought, Carrie is running after her. “Wait.” Carrie shouted. Nadia stopped, it is a chance that Nadia can burst her hatred and irritated to Carrie. “Then, what?” she shouted. “It’s because of you. Are you happy because you get him already, aren’t you?” she added.

“No, actually—

“I don’t want to listen you because you spit nothing.”

“Listen to me. Actually, Nadia I have waiting for you because I’m going to say sorry after what I have done. I regretted so much and Kurt knew it. Every time, I have think of you if what might happen if I get married to him. What if you will came back? I thought it every day, Nadia.” She cried.

“No. That’s not true either.”

“If you don’t believe me. Let me to do this. I’m willing to give you Kurt back. Actually, I did it because I thought you already dead and we believe at the first place since we didn’t receive any information about you until such time someone told us that you already passed away.”

“Are you sure? If who is that spreading fake news about me must take my punishments. Carrie it is too late already. You already married and you have taking your vows in front of a priest. And we can’t bring it back. Thank you, hope you will take care of him as I take care of him. Actually, I’m pregnant.” She smiled, shedding her tears. A tears of joy. Then, she continue on her way of leaving. Drove her car back home.

Carrie kneeled down and scream while crying. She is in the parking lot and no one can ever hear her since it’s covered. She cried because she regretted everything. It’s because of her, why it’s happened. She punch herself too bad. Then, Kurt run approaching her. “Where is she?” Kurt said, and help Carrie stood up. “Are you okay, did she hurt you?”

Carrie hold him tightly just like she don’t to leave Kurt but she have to. “Kurt, you have to get back Nadia and forget me. She is pregnant.” She sobbed.

“What?” he was shocked.

“Yes, she tell it to me. You have to.”

“You’re pregnant as well, how can I leave you in this situation. You are my wife right now, and I don’t want to leave you. You are my responsibility right now, and to be a father of our baby.” He hugged Carrie tightly that made her sob. The most painful moments is in the parking lot, where tears are flowing.

Carrie lock herself on her room. She doesn’t even eat or went out. Kurt, always knock the door to let him in but she didn’t even listen. Its been three days after the wedding she is being like this. Everyone worried about her. Kurt didn’t know what to do as well. He’s out of his mind, right now. Can’t focus after what happened. He both worried of Carrie and Nadia who are both pregnant and his responsibility. He don’t have to choose between them since he both love it all. He regretted so much. He didn’t even listen to Carrie, if Nadia will came back. It’s too late already. Even him, didn’t ear three meals, and spend his time in the office without doing anything. Staring at the ball-pen he always spin. There’s some cases that he need to finalize but he give it to his assistant and secretary to care of. Since he is out his mind and out of focus. “Sir, someone searching for you. He is on the visitor’s room waiting for you.” Sec. Erica said, bringing a coffee and give it to him.

“Who?” he weakly said.

“He just give his nickname “Dan”.”

As he heard named Dan, he quickly stood up and went to the visitor’s room to meet him. Dan Vincent Moneva is his friend a long time ago. Dan is a prosecutor like him, but he didn’t work in a country but in Bogota. It’s been a long time they didn’t meet each other. And Kurt, want to meet him, right now. As he went to the visitor’s room, he saw Dan who is standing and staring to the painting of a woman who is naked on the wall. As he get inside, he tapped Dan’s shoulder. “Hey, bro.” Dan said, and they hugged each other. “It’s been a long time we didn’t meet each other. How are you?” Dan added.

Before he speak, he give his gestures to Dan to have a sit. “I’m fine. I’m getting married. And you?” he smiled.

“Married? By whom?”

“Carrie—

“Is that the girl you have shown picture to me last time?”

“No. She was Nadia, but I thought we’re getting married. It’s a long story to tell you, and it’s painful to express as well. Let’s just put it aside. How about you?” he smiled

“Fine, Anjo and I we’re getting married as well but in the next two months. Actually, Anjo is with me. She is in the hotel where we stay. I am here to see you, because I know you work here. And we planned to live here.”

“Good to hear. I know you won’t let it happen, not to introduce myself to your fiancé.”

“Sure, maybe I’m going to have a banquet this night. You can bring Carrie, of course.”

“Actually, Dan I’m on a critical situation right now. I don’t even know what to do. But, sorry. I can’t go to the dinner. Since Carrie and I didn’t even talked because of what happened during on our wedding. Nadia, revealed herself without expectations. We thought she already died for a months but it’s not true. You know what, Carrie and Nadia is pregnant and they are both my responsibility. I want to see Nadia this time to talk to her, but I doubted because, or maybe she will reject me.”

“You have to. You are the father of the baby and you should comfort the problem before they will born. Sorry, let’s move the dinner on the other time.”

“Carrie, always lock herself on her room. She didn’t even went out to eat. I’m worried about her. And also Nadia, I don’t know what happened to her right now. I don’t have any information about her after the incident.”

“As you, brother. I’m going to help you. Let’s meet Nadia this time before it’s too late.” He stood up.

Kurt stared at him. “This time? I have to call her that I want to meet her.” Tried to get his phone on his pocket.

“No need. Let’s do it as a surprised.” He smiled. “Come on.”

Dan drive for him to Nadia’s house using Dan’s car. Kurt, prepared himself meeting Nadia. He don’t know what happen if Nadia will slap his face or punch it. He get nervous, his heart pump abnormally. And it made him breathe deeply. “You have to prepare yourself, Kurt. Just think of positive.” Dan talk facing Kurt’s reflection on the mirror.

“Ugh. I should.” He smiled.

They meet Nadia in her house, who’s having fun with her two cute beard white-dogs in the ground. Nadia, didn’t notice them walking to her. Actually, the gate is opened. They get inside without any permission. Because as what Dan said, it’s surprised. Kurt bring with him a bouquet of flower for offerings. Until, Nadia notice them. She stood up and stared at them strangely. She put her palms on her pocket. She’s wearing her sexy-short and a sleeveless. Tying her hair and her dogs keeps on caressing her legs. “What are you doing here?” she calmly said.

“Kurt want to talk to you.” Dan smiled. “I’m leaving now. Take care of yourself, Kurt.” He whispered to Kurt.

Nadia watch at Dan who is leaving, right now. She smiled and wave back when Dan wave and smiled at her. When Dan is out of her sight, she turn her eyes to Kurt bring a bouquet of white roses while smiling at her. He walk slowly closer to her. But, “You can stay right there.” She give her gestures by stopping him. “What do you want from me? Did Carrie know about it?” she added.

“No—

“Then, leave. I don’t want to hurt Carrie this time. Since I already know about her. I treated her as my friend. And I don’t want to ruin because I trust her.”

“I want to talk to you, and ask you.” he step closer to Nadia.

“I said, stay there—you want to talk with me? About what? Is there’s something that we have to?”

“Nadia, listen to me. Is that baby on your womb is mine?”

“Huh? How did you know? I thought, you will reject both of us. If that case, you can leave now. I can raise the baby with in my own. I don’t need your help. My baby don’t need to have a father. It only need a mother who give love and care.” She shed her tears.

“Listen, Nadia. I am here to apologize of what I have done. Sorry, for breaking our promises. I never thought and meant it. Sorry.”

“Kurt, you are now a husband and a father this time. Go back to your wife and instead take care of her and not me. Carrie, need you. Though I need you, but I have to move on since were not married.”

“Nadia, you are my responsibility right now, because soon I can be the father of that baby.”

“But, your most responsibility is the woman you have marry. Don’t worry, I willing to leave not to see you anymore. Maybe this is the way to live without thinking of you.”

“You don’t have to leave. Yes, I broke all the promise. But you don’t know that the feelings I have feel on you is still within. I never forget it. There’s such time I have think of you. Nadia, listen up. Please stay here always. I want to see the baby until it will born.”

“Kurt, you need to focus Carrie and her baby instead. Don’t worry, you can see the baby after I have born. But I will not allow to bring your name. I don’t want the baby will raise using your name.”

“And I don’t want the baby will raise without a father. Please, Nadia. Give me time to take care of our baby. It need me as the father. It’s okay for me, if you will not accept me. But please allow me.”

“I have to think of it. You can leave now.”

“I can’t leave. Actually, I am here because I’m worried about you.”

“You don’t have to worry about me. Since, I’m okay right now. You should spend your time to your wife and to your father. You must focus on them.”

“I have to give my time to you as well. I want to hug you, if you will allow me and give this flower to you.”

She stared at Kurt that made her stop, whether to allow Kurt to hug her and accept the flower or not. She’s doubted this time. She smiled, without knowing it. Kurt smiled at her also.

She walked through Kurt, instead. She give her tight hug. “Actually, Kurt. I don’t want to lose you. I want you to stay with me, watching over me when the day come I will bore this baby. I’m afraid to lose you. But, I guess I have to since Carrie is waiting for you.

“Nadia, I am willing to do everything that you have wish from me. I am willing to take granted on it. You deserve it. Sorry, for the words I have spit out. Actually, I didn’t mean it. It’s hurt for me. I regretted it on why I did it. Actually, if I have given a time to back the time. Absolutely, I will choose the time when you are walking to the aisles going to the altar wearing you wedding gown and your sweet smile.”

“Kurt, don’t tell me you will going to broke the promise you have promise with Carrie inside of the Church.”

“I won’t do it. Instead, I’m going to ask permission to her to allow me to meet you since I have my responsibility on you. And I should.”

“Kurt, don’t ever hate her. I have realize that she is good and kind that need your love. I have planned to meet her and talk to her. I want to apologize to her as well.”

“Don’t worry, I will tell her. Or maybe, you can visit in our house having dinner or lunch. Just to have time to talk each other or having fun. Actually, that guy earlier. He is Dan my friend. He ask me for dinner. And I want the dinner will be celebrate in our house. So you can go and eat with us. I want you to know his fiancé Anjo.”

“I think of it.” She smiled.

Kurt give the flower he bring for Nadia. And leave after.
