As I finally managed to grab a bite to eat, the weight of the past few days pressed heavily on my shoulders. I haven't brushed my teeth, taken a proper bath, or even eaten a decent meal in what felt like an eternity. Every moment was consumed by worry for Aria, her health deteriorating before my eyes.
The sound of my phone buzzing broke through the haze of my thoughts. It was Dr. Patel, and my heart leaped into my throat as I answered the call.
"Mr. Williams, luckily, Aria has received the transfusion," Dr. Patel's voice echoed through the receiver, bringing a surge of relief. "We've operated on her to treat her condition, and she's now in the recovery unit under surveillance."
