“I think that I’ve figured out what’s going on with Cassian,” Lance said, shifting awkwardly in his seat. He was seated across from Nolan in his office.
Nolan raised an eyebrow at him. “Well?”
“I’m pretty sure that he’s romantically interested in Ellie.”
Nolan stared at Lance for a long, tense moment as he considered the explanation. It did seem to make some sense.
“I see,” Nolan said simply.
“That’s it?” Lance asked, frowning. “That’s all the reaction you can muster? I just told you that another man is interested in your wife.”
“I’ll monitor the situation.”
