I always felt uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room, waiting for a doctor’s appointment. But the feeling was worse now that I was in my OB/GYN’s office, waiting for a pregnancy check-up.
Today I’d have an ultrasound. It was my first real chance to see the baby, and even though I knew it wasn’t going to look like much at this stage, it still made me nervous.
So when I heard Felicity’s familiar voice call my name, I practically jumped out of my skin.
My heart raced as I looked at her, wondering how the hell she managed to find me here. Did she somehow know? Was she here to expose me?
“Here for your yearly check-up?” Felicity asked smugly, placing her hands on her hips and looking me up and down. “Well, I’m here for a fertility check.”
