chapter 24

Ben walked me to my ward and left.

I thanked Nurse Claire before she left.

The children has finished eating,i packed their empty dishes back into the basket and set it aside for the cook to come carry it.

I sat down about to resume my novel when the children persuaded me to tell them a story.

I hesitated at first but i had no choice than to tell them...They love my stories and song a lot.

I finished telling them a fairytale story and they started popping questions as always.

I answered their questions and couldn't help but admire their smartness.

I always wonder why their parents would abandon such cute and smart children in the hospital even after they are healthy.

I checked the wall clock ; 3:45.

Wow..two minutes remaining for me to pack up and leave for home.. I've been missing Mig anyway😉

I finished packing up and chatted with the children while waiting for Fleur.

"Hey children" Fleur said walking in.

"Hey Doc. Fleur" The children responded.

"Bye" I said.

"Bye Elva" They replied with a frown and i know they don't want me to leave.

We walked out of the hospital after signing out and bidding the nurses goodbye.

"Elva we need to branch at the grocery store, i need to get some things" Fleur said and i nodded.

We chatted till we got there,we entered and Fleur took out the list and started dropping the things on it in the shopping basket i offered to carry.

We finished shopping and walked out of the grocery store with shopping bags in our hands.

We headed home.

We got home and i wished we could trek farther. Fleur was actually telling me about what happened in the staff meeting.

We stepped onto the front porch and opened the door,we walked in and i expected to hear the amazing voice as usual but what i saw is much more than that.

A pretty lady is seated comfortably on the couch clad in a crop turtle-necked blouse with a green mini skirt. Her eyes are light blue and her blonde hair is in a French plait. Her nose is sharply pointed and her lips are pressed in a little smile which seems to be fake. A pink iPod is on her exposed thigh.

She look pretty or rather hot.

"Daisy" Fleur screamed in anger and i flinched.

Fleur is never someone to get this angry at someone.

Who could this be?

"Get out" Fleur yelled.

Gosh what's wrong?

When I heard a knock on the front door,I turned off my piano thinking it was Fleur and Elva, but they don't always knock' I wondered.

I walked to the door and opened it. My mouth dropped in surprise when I saw Daisy standing at the door with a luggage.

Memories flew back into my head.

Daisy was my girlfriend,I met

her after my parents died, we started off as friends but I later develop feelings for her we dated and I can say I love her so much even if Fleur wasn't in complete support of our relationship..She spends some time in our house,eat sleep and watch movies.

We were all together in the living room on a rainy day,and luckily power was restored so we were watching a Korea movie. The weather suddenly changed to humid and my disease appeared.

I was trying hard to rush back into my room to avoid Daisy from seeing my irritating form but it was too late i was stuck there.

Fleur's eyes was still fixed on the TV plus Daisy's.

Fleur suddenly look back and saw me, she ran into her room to quickly get the injection she normally uses for me.

Daisy also turned and screamed, with fear and contempt written all over her face. Fleur returned and treated me and i dozed off as usual.

I woke up an hour later to see Daisy packing her luggage.

I cried and begged her not to leave but she said she can't date me anymore that my disease is the worst she has ever seen,i made her know it is not contagious but she turned deaf ears to my pleadings she said she wasted her perfect self on me that she should have been with a perfect guy with no disease.

Worst still she demanded for $15,000, half of the money our parents left to us,we gave it to her after she threatened to reveal my disgusting disease to the world.

She left and I couldn't eat for days I cried and felt heartbroken,all thanks to Fleur who did all she can to make me return back to my normal state and also forget about Daisy.

But now she is here at the door with luggage in her hand. I hope it's definitely not what I'm thinking.

"Hey Mig, long time"she said with a smile,so she can still smile at me after what she did

"How may i help you?" I ask with hatred.

"Uhm... I came to stay"she said with her nose high like she always does.

"Stay? certainly not here!!"I said about banging the door on her

"Wait Mig"she said and i stopped looking at her "What ?" I asked with a hiss.

"If you can allow me stay for a week,I promised to give you the cure to your..uh..disease"she said"

"Huh?"I asked not sure I heard her correctly.

"Yeah,I made some research about your disease and I've found the cure but I will have to stay here for a week before I can hand it over to you". She said.

"Really?" I asked with surprise.

"of course" She said with a smile.

Omg once I have the cure then I can go to the city and freely pursue my dream of modelling and singing.i can't believe I will finally pursue my career.it means a lot to me... I can do anything to have the cure.. Then I must allow her to stay cos I also wish to be free from my disease. No one also wishes to be caged in a disease that's obstructing your future.

"And why do you want to stay here, you can just give me the cure and leave" I said.
