Dixon tried to concentrate on his own clothes. And not the fact that his mate was already nude and waiting on him with her back turned. He could see the two tiny twin dimples in her lower back. And the curved half mandala tattoo under the right cheek of her taut muscular backside. The other side was where the flowers from her iguana tattoo curved around. His shirt and jacket were already off. And his impressive erection sprung free when he pushed his pants and shorts down, stepping out of them and preparing to shift.
“Are you ready?,” RickyJo asked, taking a quick peek over her shoulder before she blushed as red as the roses on her shoulder and turned back around, putting her hand over her eyes.
“I’m ready,” he confirmed.
“Okay!,” she said, keeping her hand over her eyes as she began to count backwards from sixty.
“What are you doing?,” Dixon asked, stopping her at fifty-seven. She pulled her hand down and looked over her shoulder at him again. She had a mischievous grin on her face. And her eyes were already starting to glow.
“Giving you a sixty second head start,” RickyJo said, not being as shy about getting a peek at his naked body this time.
“You want me to run from you?,” Dixon asked. She giggled.
“Well if I run from you, you’ll never catch me,” she said, trying not to laugh at the angry scowl her mate was giving her. RickyJo turned back around, covering her eyes again.
“Fifty-six, fifty-five, fifty-four,” she turned, and seeing her mate was still standing there scowling, she raised her voice and counted faster and louder, “...FIFTY-THREE FIFTY-TWO FIFTY-ONE…” She tried not to giggle again when she heard him shift and tear off into the woods. RickyJo uncovered her eyes and tried to finish counting. But Jade was too eager for the chase. She shifted and took over with twenty seconds still left on the clock.
I can’t believe we’re running from our Luna! We do the chasing, not the other way around!
“Just shut up and keep running,” Dixon told his wolf. Shadow was large even from an alpha wolf. He was a fierce warrior. But speed wasn’t his strong suit. Not even when he had all four of his paws. He ran his ass off, expecting Jade to catch up with him at any moment. When she didn’t appear, he slowed down and began trying to catch her scent. He caught a whiff of it on the wind and stopped at the bottom of a rocky outcropping, using his enhanced hearing to try and figure out which way she was coming from. Her scent was getting stronger. But he still couldn’t hear her. Suddenly there was a playful growl from above. And Shadow glanced up just in time to see Jade descending on him from above. She knocked him to the ground in a flurry of gray and white fur.
Rolling off, Jade lowered herself down so her front paws were on the ground and her tail was wagging playfully in the air. She yipped at Shadow, encouraging him to pounce. And he was happy to oblige her. The two wolves play-fought, nipping and pouncing on each other. Both of them were happy to finally be able to work off some of their excess energy. Since their human counterparts hadn’t marked each other yet, they couldn’t communicate telepathically yet. But they could read each other’s body language. And when Jade gestured for Shadow to follow her, he did.
With their initial burst of energy out, they walked quietly through the woods until they arrived at a small clearing. Jade ducked her head, rubbing the length of her body under Shadow’s neck and along the length of his body. When she lifted her tail and turned her back to his wolf, Dixon put a block up in his mind. He could still feel a lingering bit of what was happening. But he wanted to save the first experience of being with his mate for when they could be together in their human forms.
When RickyJo was sure Jade and Shadow were done doing the deed, she carefully let the block down between her mind and Jade’s. The two wolves were curled up together, relaxing near the edge of the grassy meadow Jade led him to. RickyJo pushed forward, letting Jade retreat to the back of her mind as she shifted back to her human form. She was still curled up next to Shadow and she snuggled into his smoky gray fur, running her hands over the coarse texture. His fur was so dark it was close to black in some spots. And like his human counterpart, there were a few white hairs mixed in with the gray around his muzzle. She stroked her hand over his head. His fur was softer there, more silky in texture. Shadow lowered his giant head, nuzzling into the crook of her neck.
RickyJo blinked her eyes shut. And when she opened them, Dixon was there, holding her in his arms. He brushed the tip of his nose with his, twining a long strand of her long blonde hair through his fingers. His eyes were as blue as the sky behind his head. He moved slowly. Taking his time with her was easier now that their wolves weren’t pushing forward with animalistic desires of their own. When he kissed her, his touch was whisper soft. His lips gently brushed against hers. But it sent tingles all the way down to the tips of her toes. She lifted her head slightly, pressing her lips against his with more pressure.
It wasn’t her first kiss. But it was her first time kissing a man. Feeling the rough texture of his facial hair against her soft skin was a new experience. New but not unpleasant. When his tongue flicked gently out, she parted her lips to receive it. Their tongues danced together and she moaned softly into his mouth, her hands stroking up the marred skin of his back. It wasn’t until he leaned into her that she felt his hard length pressing eagerly against her hip. Dixon felt his mate’s body tense, her hands circling to push against his chest instead of pulling him closer. He allowed her to move his larger body back and slightly away from hers, giving her the space she obviously needed.
“It's okay,” he coaxed, “...I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do.”
“You don’t mind waiting?,” she asked, looking up at him with an expression of concern. He leaned in, giving her a more chaste kiss than the one they just shared.
“I’ll wait as long as it takes,” he assured her. “...but I’m hoping this means you’ve decided to accept me as your mate?” RickyJo’s face lit up and she cupped his neck with her hand, pulling him back down for another kiss before she answered his question.
“You bet your ass I do!”
