~clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher Strom, but to add color to my sunset sky.~
~~Rabindranath Tagore ~~

Taking a sip from the cup of coffee, she sat on her window. Watching how the sky pouring. Rainy season was always her favorite. She loved sound of drizzle and those chills ran down her spin. She could sit hours watching the rain with a cup of coffee in her hand.
That day also she sat on her window watching the rain with her favorite coffee. Cappuccino. Perfect for rainy days. But something different happen that day.
chehre mein tere
khud ko main dhoondhoon
ankhon ke darmiyaan
tu ab hai is tarah
khwaabon ko bhi jagah na miley
(I search for myself
in your face.
between my eyes,
you are there in such a way,
that there is no place for even dreams)
A car stopped in front of the small stall in front of her house. The stall was in a clear view from her window. The poor shop owner tried his level best to cover his small stall from the cruel rain.
He stepped out of the car. She expected someone in one of those expensive attires. Show offing the expenses he had like others. But, instead there stood a completely different one from her imagination. He was in the simplest attire of his.
ye mausam ki baarish
ye baarish ka paani
ye paani ki boondein
tujhe hi to dhoondhein
ye milne ki khwaahish
ye khwaahish puraani
ho poori tujhi se
meri ye kahaani
(this rain of this weather,
this rain-water,
these drops of water,
they look for you only.
this wish to meet,
this old with, with you only, this story of mine
gets completed.)
He stepped in front of the stall and ask for something. The conversation in between being impossible to hear for her human ears.
The shop owner gave him something. From how much she could figure out from her human eyes, it was a cup of tea.
She couldn't believe her eyes. He came there all the way on a rainy day only to drink a cup of tea. Human could be crazy sometimes, she thought.
And Suddenly, he become the center of her attention. Rain was long forgotten. He stole the every single cell of attention of her.
He sat on the bench of the stall. Sipping the tea slowly, enjoying the rain. And she sat there watching him.
There was something in him that attracted her. Something, because of which she couldn't take her eyes of him. But What? She didn't know.
The next day also it was raining profusely. And, she also sat on her window, watching the rain. The previous day incident, the image of him drinking the tea was still afresh. There was tiny voice in her heart was saying she would see him again.
He came. With the cold breeze touching her face. And, she sat there, watching him till the rain stopped, sun sets, and he got up to go.
The next few days was raining cats and dogs. And she was also able to watch him every day, enjoying his cup of tea, with her cup of coffee. She used to watch him every day from her window. Sometimes, she used to feel creepy, though. Watching him like this. But, she used to shoved it off. Because, his mysterious appearance was something beyond her creepiness.
kabhi tujhse utroon
to saanson se guzroon
to aaye dil ko raahat
(if I get to descend through you,
I'd pass through your breaths,
then, my heart will be at peace)
Like any other days she sat on her window, to watch him. But, something was different. He didn't show up. She sat there waiting for him. One hour, two hours, eventually the dusk came. But, he didn't.
Worry settled in her. All shorts of a thing came in her mind. Restlessness was the only thing she could feel.
What could happen? Why he didn't come? Was he okay? Was he sick? Car accident? Family problem? Was something bad happen to him? Every possible and impossible things was playing in her mind.
Who was he for her? Nothing! Then, why was she so restless? She didn't know. In those few days, he became a habit of her. A weird emotion developed in her heart for him. What she couldn't figure out.
main hoon be thikaana
panaah mujhko paana
hai tujhme, de ijaazat
(I'm without a shelter,
I have to find a refuge
in you, allow me.)
The rainy season dropped. But he was nowhere to see. Time went like that, and he only became a part of her memory.
Time flew like this, but she couldn't forget him. Every day, she used to wait for him on her window. But he was like a cool wind. Came in her life and gone like this, so sudden. But, not before turning her life upside down.
Unknowingly he made a special place in her heart. He made her desert heart full of emotions. And, she accepted the emotions with all she had.
Days turned months, months turned years. Then there was again the wet season. Again the rainy days.
naa koi darmiyaan
hum dono hai yahaan
phir kyun hain tu bata
faasley...
(there is nobody between us,
only the two of us are there,
then why are there distances,
tell me.)
The drizzling sounds were heard against the roof. Reminding her of him.
Finding it difficult to stay at home, she went out. The rain was pouring furiously. She was walking on the nearly deserted road with an umbrella.
ye mausam ki baarish
ye baarish ka paani
ye paani ki boondein
tujhe hi to dhoondhein
ye milne ki khwaahish
ye khwaahish puraani
ho poori tujhi se

(this rain of this weather,

this wish to meet,

"Excuse me!" She turned back hearing the masculine voice behind her. A deep husky one.
Her body froze there. Heart turned wild. Eyes held many emotions one can't figure.
It was him standing in front of her. Soaked by the droplets of water.
"Yes? Her voice betrayed her. Even this simple word came out shuttering.
"Sorry, to disturb you but..." He said in his deep voice and knelt in front of her.
She gasped watching him like this. But what he said next was enough to shut her mind.
"...but I wanna confess something. One year ago, when I used went to that tea stall, I didn't go there only to drink tea. I went there for you. I knew it, that you were watching me from behind the window with your favorite cup of coffee. I watched you how restless was you when I stopped coming there. You can think I am a stalker. Hell, yes, I am a stalker of yours. I became a stalker for you from the time saw you. I know, it's cliché . but at the first sight only you became that one special person for me.
And, today, after mustering the much-needed courage, I wanna ask you, will you be my company for the rest of your rainy days , with your cup of coffee and my cup of tea?
hawaaon se tera
pata poochhta hoon,
ab to aaja tu kahin se.
parindon ki tarah
ye dil hai safar mein,
tu mila de zindagi se.
(I ask the winds
for your address,
now come, from somewhere.
like birds,
this heart is travelling,
make it meet life.)
By the time he finished, her eyes were red. Her salty droplets were mixed with the rain drops pouring from the sky. Her umbrella was somewhere she couldn't even remember.
He waited for her answer. Instead of answering she extended her hand for him. Gesturing him to get up.
He took her hand and got up. Still waiting for the answer.
She just took his face in between her palms. And then said those words he was dying to hear.
"From the time I saw you, you became the special one for me too. But, I was yet to realize. And when you stop coming, I only realize how much special you are for me. You only make my empty heart blossom with so many colors. And, I know I am also saying cliché.
Yes! I will be your company, your partner, for the rest of my rainy days, with your cup of tea and my cup of coffee, if you only promise me with the rest of your rainy days!" She finished her little speech. And it was his time feel overwhelmed. His lips curved. Eyes twinkled.
bas itni iltija
tu aake ik dafaa
jo dil ne na kahaa
jaan le...
(I have just this one request,
once come and know
what this heart has said.)
"I would love to!" He said, and the next second their lips sealed.
"But, you didn't say those three words to me? She asked.
"Is it important?
"I don't think so!"
And with this they join there forehead, their body mingle, as well their breath. They stood there, silently, enjoying the rain.

~those three words aren't necessary in every love story. ~
