“Good morning, Rob.”
I looked up to see James standing in the doorway of my office. He wore a bright smile that only made me melt more. Divinity had a thing for Raphael, while I had a thing for James. Sadly, he's already in a relationship at the moment. They've been together for almost two years now. Unlike Divinity, I know how to keep my feelings under wraps. James makes it almost impossible not to like him. He’s super sweet and friendly. He has this swag about him that draws you in, but not overbearing. I like a man who has that “mainly” vibe, but I'm the one in control. James is a 6’3 tree I wanna tie up and have my way with. His brown hair is cut low with waves. He also has a low-cut beard that shapes his face nicely. His eyebrows are extremely thick but manicured, and his nose rounds off at the tip. Mr. McCoy is a nice golden brown while James is light skinned, a tad bit darker than me. As I stared at him in my door, my eyes fell to his lush lips that did little to hide his pearly whites. I gathered myself quickly to reply to the man. I rolled my eyes at what he called me and sucked my teeth.
“Rob? Really? Do I look like a man to you?
He moved into the room and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Robin? Absolutely not. Rob, on the other hand… She a little husky.”
He laughed, and I threw my stress ball at him. Of course, he caught it and then winked at me. I chuckled.
“Keep playing, Josie. I don't wanna have to beat you down and prove you right.”
I got up from my desk and walked towards my door. I hip bumped him while I was leaving. I met up with Divinity and talked about her new look and her presentation. She told me about her wanting to actually quit and becoming her own boss. I'm behind her 1000%, but I wanted to make sure that this is what she wanted. The day went on with a variety of things that happened.
For example: Vinnie and I both realized that Mr.McCoy definitely has feelings for her or something like feelings. Damien Becker is not one to be messed with or ignored cause damn if he wasn't tryna hunch on Vinnie the moment he saw her. Then some real crazy s**t popped off in Mr.McCoy's office!!! Today has been one for the books. I headed home thinking I'd be in for the night until Kris hit up the group chat, and we made Vinnie spill her guts. The heffa had the nerve to cook and not invite us. I swear, you think you know people. I didn't think the day could get any more interesting after food, but I was wrong.
When Kris and I headed up to Vinnie’s apartment, Mr. McCoy was headed out. My flabbers were ghasted. I had to autocorrect my brain to function. That night was chaotic for sure. Kris and I were playing 1000 questions with Vinnie cause we were gonna get the tea. We were then afforded a day out on the boss, and we had a blast. There was a hiccup concerning Divinity's dress getting ruined, which, for me, was a bit shady, but we moved on. Debbie, the consultant we met at the dress shop, was amazing and did an excellent job at picking a new dress for her. When Vinnie stepped out of her room and was dressed for the gods, I felt like a mama bird watching her baby grow up… I'm too damn dramatic for my own good. I escorted both Debbie and Jessica out and plopped down on the couch.
Kris and I waited up for Vinnie to come back from the ball.
“Vinnie looked so beautiful tonight, didn't she? I mean, she's always been beautiful, but tonight, she was absolutely breathtaking.”
I turned to Kris while she spoke, who sat down next to me on the couch and smiled.
“She really is. It's just so weird. She's so confident in many things but hella shaky when it comes to her looks and men. She has no idea how many guys at work be pining after her. I'm just happy she's finally getting to see what we have always seen.”
We chatted for a while longer when I got up to get some ice cream. I walked by her balcony door and stepped outside. The breeze felt nice. I thought about Divinity. I truly hoped she was enjoying herself. She deserves this more than anyone. She’s had a hard life. Most don't know it, but that girl has been through hell and back. She's the type to make struggle look easy to others that are on the outside without realizing just how much strength it takes for her to smile everyday. It's time that she gets to be on easy street for once. As I was in thought, I noticed some guy looking up. I know I'm crazy, but I don't think I'm going crazy. I'm sure they're looking up into Vinnie's place. He noticed me watching him and ducked his head down and left.
Ok??? That was weird.
I went back inside, got my ice cream, and chilled for the rest of the night. Me and Kris crashed on the couch until we heard the door buzz, so we knew Vinnie was back. Mr.McCoy carried Vin up and to her room. After a little time, he too left. Kris and I headed to Vinnie's room and climbed into bed with her. We both realized that she wasn't wearing her dress but HIS blazer. I raised my brow, and Kris smiled mischievously. I frowned to say “no, she couldn't have” and Kris raised her brow to say “yes she could.” We chuckled quietly to not wake her, and we both laid down.
Yeahhh… She def got some explaining to do in the A.M.
