When Pain Met Love

1111 Words
The bottle still stood on the table, silent, as if it carried Veer’s heartbeat. Rohini sat on the edge of the bed, holding the diary close to her chest. She had read his words again and again—his respect, his longing, his soft confession about waiting an entire week just to hear her voice. Her eyes blurred with tears. If only it had been him… But before she could drown in the memory, the door slammed. --- Raj’s Cruel Desire Raj staggered in, shirt buttons open, belt loose, his body smelling of whiskey and smoke. His eyes locked onto her like prey. “You’re still up?” His voice slurred but his smirk was sharp. “Raj… you’re drunk again,” Rohini whispered, clutching the diary tighter. “So what? You’re my wife.” He walked to her, grabbed the diary from her lap, and tossed it aside. The thud echoed like her breaking heart. His hands gripped her arm, yanking her onto the bed. “Raj, please… not like this—” But he crushed his mouth onto hers before she could finish. His kiss wasn’t love—it was a punishment. His teeth dug into her lips until she whimpered. The metallic taste of blood filled her mouth. He licked it hungrily, groaning. “Ahh… you taste better when you cry,” he muttered, biting harder. Her head shook desperately, but his hand slid under her nightdress, seizing her breasts roughly. “Mine.” He squeezed them hard, kneading until her n*****s stiffened from pain, not pleasure. His mouth latched onto one breast, sucking hard, his teeth grazing cruelly around her n****e. “Raj! It hurts! Please—” “Shut up!” He slapped her across the cheek, pinning her wrists above her head with one hand. His other hand grabbed her panties, tearing them in one rough tug. “Spread your legs,” he growled, forcing her thighs apart. His fingers dug into her flesh, leaving bruises as he shoved his way between. Her tears streamed down. “Please… gently, Raj… I’m begging—” But he was already inside her. No pause. No care. His thick thrust tore through her, making her scream. “Ahhh! Stop! Please—it’s hurting!” But his grunts drowned her voice. His hips slammed into hers again and again, the bed creaking violently. His chest pressed her down, his teeth biting her neck, leaving raw red marks. “You’re mine,” he snarled, pumping harder, his hand squeezing her breasts until her cries broke into sobs. “This body belongs to me.” Her nails clawed the bedsheet, her legs trembling as he pounded into her. Each thrust was harsher, faster, merciless. Her body burned, her soul broke. And then, with a groan, his body jerked. His release spilled inside her. He collapsed for a moment, panting, before rolling to the side. Within minutes, Raj was asleep. For him, it was pleasure. For her, it was pain she could never erase. --- Rohini’s Longing Rohini lay frozen. Her breasts were sore, her lips swollen, her thighs aching with bruises. She curled into herself, clutching the bedsheet against her naked body. Silent sobs shook her frame. Her heart screamed only one name—“Veer…” The tears blurred her vision as she imagined him. Not Raj’s cruel hands, but Veer’s gentle ones. She closed her eyes, and in her fantasy, Veer sat beside her. His thumb wiped her tears. His lips brushed her forehead softly. “I’ll never hurt you, Rohini,” his voice whispered in her ears, “I’ll love every part of you like it’s sacred.” She moaned faintly, arching as she imagined his hands cupping her breasts—not squeezing, not bruising, but caressing. His lips circled her n*****s slowly, his tongue teasing until her body shivered not from pain, but pleasure. Her breath quickened as she pictured his mouth trailing down, kissing her waist, pressing into the hollow of her navel. His kisses were worship, not assault. His hands stroked her thighs tenderly, parting them with care, not force. In her fantasy, he entered her slowly, watching her eyes, kissing her lips as he filled her. Every thrust was love, not violence. Every touch was reverence, not cruelty. Her body trembled. A sob escaped her lips. Why isn’t it him? Why did I lose him? --- The Morning Mask Sunlight crept cruelly through the curtains. Rohini sat at the edge of the bed, hiding her bruises beneath a dupatta. Raj stretched and yawned like a man who had slept peacefully. He walked into the bathroom humming, ignoring her swollen lips and red eyes. Minutes later, dressed sharply for the office, he scrolled his phone. “Breakfast,” he said casually. Rohini forced a smile. She served him, silent, hiding every wound. When he left, shutting the door, her mask cracked. She collapsed to the floor, sobbing. --- Alone with the Diary Her trembling hands reached for the maroon-wrapped diary. She pressed it against her bruised chest, whispering through tears— “Veer…” She untied the ribbon with shaking fingers, opening to the next page. --- Veer’s Words “Rohini… When I left for the hostel, my body traveled miles away, but my soul never left you. Every night I wrote because without you, I could not breathe. The world saw me smiling, but that smile was a mask. The only truth I ever had was you. *Each week, that one phone call became my reason to live. When I heard you say, ‘Hello,’ my entire world lit up. Every laugh of yours was my shelter, every goodbye my storm. I never told you this, Rohini, but I would press the receiver against my lips after you hung up, as if somehow I could kiss your voice. I wanted to say: You are my queen, my future, my everything. But all I managed was, ‘How are you?’ Because love screamed inside me, but respect kept me silent. Still, your voice was enough. It healed me. It carried me. It was my home.”* --- Rohini’s Realization Her tears fell onto the page, smudging the ink. She pressed her lips to Veer’s words, kissing them as though they were him. Her body was broken. Her heart was bleeding. But Veer’s words wrapped around her like a blanket, warm and safe. She whispered into the silence: “Veer… don’t stop speaking to me. Please. I need you.” She turned the page eagerly, desperate for more. Because this diary wasn’t just Veer’s story. It was hers too. And it was only just beginning.
