SOREN WAS WOKEN by the light chirruping of birds outside his window. Even though his eyes were still closed, he could feel the early morning sun on his face. He felt slightly hazy and guessed he had been asleep for a long time. He blinked groggily, forcing his heavy eyelids open and trying to ignore the pounding in the base of his skull.
