  Chapter 9 Three weeks later Jerico lingered by the entrance to Lathilda’s store. He hadn’t dared go inside during the three weeks he’d been staying with Teo. It was weird to be back—frightening and a relief at the same time. This was where he grew up, and while he didn’t think of the pack land as his land, he was beginning to think of Teo’s house as his.
