Tanner texted me the next day telling me he had been caught up with work, but I hadn't believed it. Something just told me it wasn't that. But I was meeting my mum for lunch today, so I was trying not to think about it. I parked up at a local restaurant. Mum had wanted afternoon tea and apparently this was the best place for it. When I walked in she was already sitting down, so when a waiter came to me, I told him I already saw my table. Mum looked lost in her own thoughts as I made my way over to her.
