The Perfect Luna

Chapter 2

***Unknown POV***

I look at myself in the vanity. My waist length brown hair looked beautiful. It had two loose french braids on either side joined together in the back into a bun designed to look like a rose. The back, bottom portion was left to flow freely down my back in elegant curls. It really looked like something out of a bridal magazine.

"Do you like your hair?" my mother said as she walked into my bedroom

"Yes I do, mother. It's beautiful." I smiled

I stood and walked toward her. Stopping in front of her, she embraced me.

"Happy birthday, darling." she hugged me deeper

"Thank you, mother." I hugged her just as tightly back before we both let go "Will father be joining us?"

"He has urgent business to attend to currently. But he will be there tonight.  Él te ama mucho  ." she kissed my forehead and left the room

"Lo  sé  " I thought with a smile

***Steven POV***

I groan as I hit the ground.

"Again!" Sven yelled

I jump up and take my fighting stance. I look at the man across from me, I need to figure out a way to beat him. Being an Alpha I was naturally stronger than most wolves. But what he lacked in raw, inherent strength he definitely made up for it in technique and talent.

Before I could even think of my next move, he charged me. Aimed low at my midsection, he lifted me into the air, before slamming me onto my back. I felt the wind knock out of me.

"A wolf has raw, animalistic instincts. They will do whatever to protect themselves in a fight. We have the ability to allow our wolves to take over and fight for us without ever having to shift, even partially." Sven said pacing "But what will you do when you cannot shift? When you cannot depend on your wolf to take over? Are you going to just end up on your back or worse?"

I felt my self getting pissed off. I'm an Alpha, who the hell does this guy think he is.

'Let me take over. I'll teach him a lesson.' Nix growled

'The point of the exercise is to learn to strategize.' I said

'F**k that. We're getting our asses handed to us. We're Alphas and everyone is literally looking down on us. Man up and let's whoop this guys ass.' Nix was done arguing, he took over

Before Sven could give another order. I was on my feet and charging the guy who'd just laid me on my ass. I assaulted him with a flurry of punches, anywhere my fists could land. When he shielded himself and covered his head, I grabbed ahold of his neck and tossed him to the ground.

"Steven, enough!" Sven yelled but I didn't listen

I kept hitting. Punching. Anywhere was a good hit. I was not going to lose this round. At this point everyone had stopped sparring and was staring at us.

"Steven!" Sven yelled again taking a step closer to me

Nix growled deep from within my chest. Sven took a step back.

"Enough!" my father's voiced boomed

My body instantly froze. No pack member can resist a direct order from their Alpha. That was the voice of an Alpha speaking not the voice of my father. I slowly stood to my feet and looked down at the bloodied man. I instantly realized my mistake.

"Alpha Jason, thank you for stepping in. I don't know if I would've been able to pull the young Alpha off of him." Sven said staring at me

"Indeed." my father replied before mindlinking me

'What the hell do you think you're doing?' he asked

'I was getting my ass whooped. I had to do something.' I huffed

'So you decided to act like a child? Training is NOT the place for blind rage. No matter who you are or what position you hold.'

'I was only-'

'This is not up for debate. I'm not speaking as your father right now. This will NOT happen again. Do I make myself clear?'

'Yes, Alpha.'

"Let's end the training here for the day." Sven said looking at everyone "You all did well today."

I turned to leave the training grounds.

"Steven, you seem to still have some steam to burn off. Why don't you join me for a run and patrol?" Sven suggested

I looked at my father who nodded his head in approval before walking off. I took off my clothes and left them on a bench. I stretched my neck and relaxed my muscles. I felt my spine snap and grow longer, bowing me over onto all fours. My fur started to replace my skin. My hands and feet changed into paws as my mouth and nose shifted into snout. My teeth grew longer and sharper.

I was fully my wolf. I stood proud and the sun beamed down on my cinnamon brown and grey fur. I shook my head.

'Are you ready, Alpha?' Sven's wolf Ares mindlinked me

I looked over at his cream colored wolf and nodded.

'Let me take over for the run.' Nix said

'Gladly. This is your form anyways.' I replied as I took a backseat

Nix and Ares took off running toward the back of the pack territory through the woods. Nix running as fast as his legs would go. Ares was close behind him. When they reached the border they greeted the wolves who were there.

'Commander. Alpha.' a wolf named Kray greeted them

'Kray, what are you doing on the backside of the territory?' Ares asked

'A few rogues were close. I personally saw to it that they left. As head of patrols it's my job to handle it without involving any uppers if possible.' Kray said

'Good work. Carry on.' Ares said 'Come, Nix. Let's continue our run.'

Off they ran again.

***Alex POV***

"What's going on with Steve?" I asked my twin Nick

"Man, I don't know?" he laughed "Guess he doesn't like getting his ass handed to him"

I was putting on my shoes and this i***t was still walking around with a towel wrapped around his waist.

"Put some damn clothes on! I'm not your mate so I don't wanna see your ass." I said sternly

"Yeah, yeah." he walked over to the couch and sat down.

"The couch is not for naked asses. We share that thing, come on!" I yelled

"Just wait until you get a mate. You'll have have her sweet a-"

"Finish that sentence and they'll be video calling you at the pack doctor's from Steve's party tonight." I growled out a warning. I got up and walked out of the apartment.

I didn't know who my mate was yet, but I'll damned if I let anyone disrespect what was mine.
