Chapter 4: We Meet Again

Emily was just finishing up faxing papers when the intercom went off in her office. “ Amy ,come to the conference room in fifteen minutes. I have an important meeting with hopefully a new investor. “Yelled Mr.Davidson. Emily rolled her eyes. Of course her boss messes up her name. “Be right there” she said back into the intercom. Emily gathered her binders and pencil case. She walked down the hall to the conference room, and sat at the large table. She sorted the papers in front of her and got ready for the meeting.

The door clicked as it was opened. Emily stood from her chair “Nice to meet you I'm Emily Emree. I'm Mr.Davidson's assistant.” She said with her hand outstretched without looking at the person. When the person didn't shake her hand , she looked up from her eye lashes and looked into golden brown eyes. She knew exactly who these eyes belonged to without looking at the rest of his face. “Uh hm” Blake said, clearing his throat. Emily was finally able to tear her eyes away from his. Emily looked at the ground trying to hide her embarrassment.

Blake smiled down at her as he watched the cute little blush spread across her cheeks. The door clicked again as Mr.Davidson walked into the room. “ OH good, you're both here. Mr.Salvitore, this is my assistant Amy” he said pointing his hand towards Emily. Emily glared and muttered “my name's Emily, you dimwit” under her breath so her boss couldn't hear. “I think you mean Emily. Isn't that right Ms.Emree” Blake said, chuckling.

Emily c****d her head at him and nodded slowly. How did this man who she only met once remember her name but her boss couldn't even remember her name. Mr.Davidson shrugged and pointed at the large table “Let's sit and discuss business”. Mr.Davidson was the first one seated and Emily sat next to him. Blake sat across from Emily and kept staring at her. Mr. Davidson and Blake started talking about business while Emily took notes. She was jotting down something Mr.Davidson said when she jumped out of her seat. Blake had trailed his foot up her leg scaring her right out of her seat. Emily's boss looked at her like she was crazy while Blake smirked knowingly at her. “Sorry I thought I saw a spider” she whispered as she sat back down.

Emily glared at Blake as Mr.Davidson and him discussed a project. Blake smirked at Emily and ran his foot slowly up her leg again. Emily glared at him and with all her might , she kicked under the table. Her foot connected within seconds and Mr.Davidson screamed “bloody hell Emily. What is your damn problem today? I've had enough, grab your s**t and wait in your office” . Shock flashed across Emily's face. She glared daggers at Blake as she grabbed her things and headed back to her office.

About thirty minutes passed before Mr.Davidson entered her office. “Emily, Blake and I are going to become partners. I was going to fire you but Blake wants you to move to his firm instead. Pack all your things and be at his office first thing in the morning.”he told me in a rush. “Mr.Davidson, I do not want to work at Mr.Blakes office. I've worked here for years. Please let me keep my job” she begged. “This is not up for discussion. You can either work for him or not have a job. Either way pack up your things and leave.” Mr.Davidson said before leaving the room.

Emily stared at the door in disbelief. How could one bad day result in her getting fired. She stomped to her desk and threw her things into a box , all while muttering curse words under her breath. Emily was beyond pissed and she was going to have some words with Blake first thing in the morning. She grabbed the box and headed out of the building.

All the way home, Emily was playing over and over in her head how she was going to curse Blake out. Her plan was to storm into his office and slap him right across the face and scream at him. She didn't care if he fired her. He embarrassed her in front of her boss and got her fired and he was going to hear about it.
