Rick Today is my first day back at the Starblade pack, after dad died mom wanted to come back. I was suppose to meet Stephen our future Alpha before going to school, but he had left early so I made my way. Do you think she will remember us? I hear Crow ask. It’s hard to tell, we’ve changed a lot. I tell him with a smile on my face. Samantha was a young she-wolf but is part human so I don’t think she knows just yet. Our mothers were good friends since her mother was also from our pack, but she went rouge and met James, Samantha’s dad. Her mother died in the war with the vampires when we were really young and I haven’t seen her since. I use to be a short chunky little boy, now I’ve grown into a six foot tall muscular jock looking young man, but my eyes will probably give me away.  Walking into school I immediately smell her, her scent hasn’t changed much from the cucumber melon type you find in the stores these days but hers is better because, well, it’s hers. She’s talking to a friend it looks like when I make my way over to her and tap her on the shoulder. She turns around and her eyes meet mine. “Rick!” She says jumping up and giving me a hug. Yep my eyes gave me away. I chuckle a bit as she releases me and takes in my new appearance. She starts to ask me about when I got back when I feel eyes on us, and I’m guessing she did to because she looked away looking for them. Not even a few seconds go by and someone was over her hugging her and ignoring the fact that there are two other people here. Alpha, I hear Crow say and I take a minute to take in his scent. This is Stephen our future Alpha, but because we haven’t been accepted fully back into the pack he will have little to no affect on me as my alpha until then.  Saying my goodbye I decided to keep watching. He seems too friendly with her, could she be his mate? I think to myself. He is of age and would know his mate even if she doesn’t. Looks like he’s walking her to class, I chuckle at his over attempts of affection and her not knowing what to do. When she’s gone and he’s alone I take this one and only chance to talk badly to an Alpha. “Are you her boyfriend or something?” I ask causing him to turn and look at me. “What’s it to you?” He ask with a smug tone to his voice, “Well if you’re not than that means she up for grabs” . A growl escapes him at my words. Yep that’s it, she’s his mate. “Easy little wolf.” I add with a chuckle leaving him stunned. “You may be our future alpha, but you’re not yet and I can take you easily.” I continue turning to walk off to my class.  I’ll probably pay for that one later, but for now let get through school. The day went by pretty fast and I didn’t see Samantha before I headed home. As I began to walk I hear my name causing me to turn around to see the most beautiful girl running after me, I chuckle a bit. She’s gown so much and I hate to say this but I want her, even though I know she’s going to be mated to Stephen, I want her! She can still reject him and that would be bad for the pack as a whole. “Hey snow angel.” I say with a smile. I gave her that nickname one day when we were out in the snow and she looked so happy running and jumping all over the place, she loves the snow. “Hey, don’t call me that.” She says looking embarrassed. “Why not? It suits you.” She looks at me and rolls her eyes. “Wanna walk me home and say hi to dad?” That made me smile and I nod locking my arm in hers, “Sure.” I answer and we begin to walk arm in arm. “So tell me.” I say causing her to look up at me. “What’s going on with you and that guy from earlier?” I ask. She blushes at my question and seems to have trouble with an answer. We walk quietly for a bit before she finally answers. “He saved me from an attack a few days ago.” She pauses for a second, “I’m not sure but I think he likes me, he’s been so affectionate and I’m not sure how to respond some times.” She continues. It’s because she’s also human and also hasn’t hit sixteen yet that she doesn’t feel the pull yet. I wonder if the rules still apply to her since she is part human. “Eh, just follow you heart and trust your feelings.” I say looking down at her. “Can never go wrong with that.” I continue causing her to smile. We make it to her house and her dad isn’t home so I wave and hug her, “See you later?” I ask. She nods, “you bet.” She says before heading inside. Sighing I turn and make my way home, knowing we were being followed the whole time by a jealous wolf.
