What would Kaira and a sister of the Church of Unity have to talk about? A lot, as it turned out. Far from having been closeted away for her whole life, as Kaira had expected, sister Alacias turned out to have travelled widely.
Kaira still felt awkward until the sister mentioned how much she loved to watch the mists of jump space. She didn’t bring any religious angle to it, as Kaira half expected. She just talked about the wonder. The joy. And soon Kaira was joining in, their conversation bouncing back and forth excitedly.
