17 When Kaira finally awoke her mind was groggy. Her body was covered in sweat but she was shivering badly. She climbed out of the bed with a groan and headed into the bathroom where she started the shower, stripped, and stepped in. As the warmth of the water soaked into her body the shivering subsided, but the heavy weight which had settled onto her shoulders did not. She washed on autopilot then got out and dried herself. She headed back into the bedroom, dressed, then sat on the bed staring at nothing. She lost track of time and had no idea how long she sat there.
