Jimmy jolted awake and listened. Something woke him, so he waited. At first he heard nothing but his own slow breathing. Then he heard the clinking. Someone was in the house. He grabbed his g*n and headed toward the stairs. Both Sean and Tommy knew not to come through the main house after midnight. They came and went through the back basement entrance. That way, he never had to be woken thinking they were burglars and he never had to deal with their drunken mess. He edged down the stairs quietly, straining to hear where the person might be.
