Moira stared at the TV, not absorbing anything she watched. A knock sounded at her front door and she jolted. Her first thought was Jimmy. Then she heard, “Moira, open up.”
Liam? What was he doing here? She hesitated, not sure if she wanted to see him.
“I know you’re home. Jimmy told me to come here.”
She went to the door and checked the peephole, which made her feel stupid since she knew it was Liam. Another wave of disappointment swept through her at seeing her brother. Until that moment, she hadn’t known how desperately she wanted to see Jimmy. She opened the door, but said nothing. He walked in and she locked the door behind him.
