Chapter 9On Halloween, they met at Olive’s to put on their costumes. When Pidge and Giant arrived, she was helping her roommate Anji make her hair look messed up but in a cute way, which seemed like a lot of work. Gordo, in a leopard print tunic sort of thing, was watching TV and drinking beer.
“We’re Tarzan and Jane,” he told Giant. He thumped his chest and grunted.
“Tarzan is a story about a human who was raised by gorillas,” Giant explained, opening a leftover hard lemonade and handing it to Pidge. “Jane is a regular lady who, um…What is Jane doing in Africa, anyway?”
Gordo shrugged.
“Well, he rescues her from lions or something and they fall in love. You two going to the campus party?”
“We’re swinging by to say hello to a few people, but we’re not staying. Going to Scobsie’s party
