Chapter 28Pidge felt his phone vibrate while he was in class. It was probably his mother. He’d been ignoring her messages since Thanksgiving, except sending a line saying he’d made it back fine. He sighed without missing any notes. He didn’t look at the message until he was sitting next to Giant, drinking coffee. He didn’t need advice, really, just Giant’s shoulder against his. “My mom wants to know about the end of the semester,” he explained. He couldn’t make himself use the word “home” about his mother’s duplex anymore, even though he’d lived there for thirteen years. “Do you need anything?” Giant asked neutrally. “No.” Pidge fiddled with his phone. “What if you don’t find a new place before school ends?” “Then you’ll stay with me and Buddy. No big deal. Bradley will be gone anyway
