Chapter 2: Trouble

"Tatsuo? Can you help me prepare the bread for later?" Akane asks Tatsuo as she slowly shakes him to wake him up
"Mom?" Tatsuo replied in a confused tone
"Can you help me in the kitchen?" Akane asks again
"Yeah, sure. I'll be there" Tatsuo replies and sits up from his bed
"Thanks," Akane said joyfully and went back to the kitchen
The wooden floor creeks as Tatsuo stood up and fixed his bed. As he went to the kitchen he noticed a mirror and was surprised to see his younger self in the mirror.
"What?" Tatsuo asks to himself
Confused by the situation, he slowly approaches the mirror. The floor creeks even more as he slowly makes his way closer to the mirror. Tatsuo slowly raises his hand and tries to touch the mirror but as his finger gets close to the mirror, the floor beneath him collapses and he falls into a dark abyss.
Tatsuo wakes up and finds himself tied in an interrogation room, lightened up with a single lightbulb in the middle of the room. He tries to break himself out but he is tightly tied to the metal chair. He looked around and saw two persons in the dim part of the room.
"Who are you?" Tatsuo asked the guy on the right calmly
The person walks out of the shadows and reveals himself wearing a full cybernetic mask
"Where did you get the info about Theodor?" The person with the mask asks him as he gets closer to Tatsuo
"And why would I tell you about that?" Tatsuo annoyingly asks
"Because I believe that we have the same goal" The person with the mask replied. He grabs a tablet and shows it to Tatsuo
"We've been observing you and your partner for the past 3 months. Gathering as much data and info that we can use for a certain mission" The person swipes to the next page "Yesterday. You and your partner breached into a building that we believe, holds info about Theodor. But as you know, the building blows up before you can even get any data at all"
"How did you know?" Tatsuo asks
"Cameras. It's effortless to hack one this day you know" The person swipes to the next page and plays the video of Tatsuo and Yui escaping from the building. "But here is the fun part" He swipes to the next page "It looks like last night you been awake and researching about Theodor. How did you get all of that info?"
"And why should I tell you?" Tatsuo replies
"Because we are going to help you" The person calmly said and removed his cybernetic mask "Remember me, kid?" The stranger asks calmly with a smirk on his face
"Wait... You are the guy that bought bread and paid with gold coins" Flabbergasted by the situation, Tatsuo can't help but smile
"Looks like you still remember"
"Let me introduce myself properly. My name is Yosuke" Yosuke bows slightly
"Yosuke, so tell me. How are you gonna help me?" Tatsuo asks
"I will only tell if you agree to cooperate with us" Yosuke calmly replies as he grabs a chair and sits down
"I need guarantees Yosuke," Tatsuo said
Silence filled the room for a minute
"Very well then. We will continue tomorrow" Yosuke said, signalling the other person to press a button. A robotic arm with a syringe slowly rises from the ground. Tatsuo saw the syringe and tried to break free but was unable to do so. The robot injects the syringe into the neck of Tatsuo and a few seconds later, he passes out.
"Let's go" Yosuke said to the other person and both of them walked out of the room and locked it.

"Tatsuo... Wake up"
"Wake up" "Wake up Tatsuo"
"Wake up..." "You need to kill him"
"Wake up and fight"
"WAKE UP!!"
Tatsuo suddenly woke up and felt a massive headache. He sits up as he tries to remember what just happened. He looked around and found himself back in his apartment.
"What happened? Why am I here?"
Yui enters the room and sees Tatsuo "Are you okay Tatsuo?" Yui asks
"Yeah... How did I-"
"Earlier, I found you unconscious outside the apartment so I carried you to your room"
"You? Carried me?" Tatsuo confusedly asks
"You always underestimate me" Yui replies and pouts "Anyway. Where have you been? I've been worried about you" Yui said and sat beside him
"I don't know where I have been taken but..."
"But what?" Yui asks
"I can't remember anything clearly" Tatsuo replied
"Huh?? Are you serious?" Yui asks frustratedly
"Yeah... Sorry," Tatsuo replies. Still trying to remember what happened
"Well, let's not dwell on that. At least you are safe." Yui says and goes to grab a folder on the nightstand "I got good news for you"
"Ohhh??" "
While you were gone, I did some more research about this Theodor dude. Well, whoever kidn*pped you is good, I can't track them in any way. Looks like they know what they're doing. So I changed my focus to Theodor"
"You gave up on finding me?" Tatsuo asks with a disappointed tone
"I know that you'll eventually escape from whoever kidn*pped you and come back here but I didn't expect that you would be unconscious and don't remember anything" Yui replies while browsing through the files in the folder. "Anyway, with all this info we have on Theodor, we can go now to Ruinberg and trace him. We have a big chance of finding him if we go right now. So what's your decision?-" Yui asks
"Let's go now," Tatsuo replied with bags and fully dressed up
"When did you have time to change?" Yui asks confusedly
"When you were explaining" Tatsuo replied
"You bitc-"
"Okay let's go now, YuI"
After they had prepared everything they needed, they both went out and headed for Ruinberg. They took a bus and went to the train station
"Wanna buy some food while we wait for the train?" Yui asked
"We can just buy food inside the train"
"IT'S EXPENSIVE," Yui said in a furious tone
The train arrives and they both go on with the trip "We could've bought so much food... You know Ruinberg is like 5 hours away" Yui said while pouting
"As I said, there is food here," Tatsuo said in a calm tone
"It's expensive though," Yui says annoyingly
"This is gonna be a long ride...."
(9:45 AM: Approaching Mulston)
(Tatsuo's POV)
"Approaching Mulston Station" The Announcer said through the speakers
"Approaching Mulston, Hmmm," I said to myself. "I'm getting bored quickly but I need to be alert at all times"
I looked at Yui and she was sleeping, tiredness finally caught up to her.
"Man, I'm hungry. We're still 4 stations away from Ruinberg"
I stood up and went to the bathroom but I have this weird feeling in me. Someone is following us. As I wash my hands. I planned on how to catch this stalker. I looked in the mirror with confidence and went out of the bathroom. I returned to my seat and waited for the stalker to make a move.
(10 minutes later)
"That's weird," I said to myself and stood up.
I saw a man taking a glance at me and went to the other cart.
"I found you"
I pursued the guy and followed him two carts away from where our seat was. I confronted the guy and grabbed him by the shoulder
"Hey, dud-"
As I said that, he immediately grabbed my wrist and threw me to the floor. All the passenger that surrounds us immediately take notice of the situation and proceeds to move to the other cart.
"Now that's a rude way to greet someone," I said as I tried to stand up
Suddenly, I felt a big strike at the back of my head. My body began to fall. I got a glimpse of the person who struck me. My body then fell to the floor.
"That's one down. Let's now get the girl"
"All right, what do we do with him?"
"The girl is more important, that strike to the head should give us enough time to get the girl"
I heard their conversation but I was starting to pass out from the sudden strike. My eyes started to close as their conversation began to get muffled. My mind went blank and darkness surrounded me
(10:00 AM: Arriving at Mulston)
(Yui's POV)
"Mmmm...."
"Tatsuo?"
I slowly opened my eyes and noticed that Tatsuo was gone. "Tatsuo?" I looked around but I couldn't find him anywhere "Where are we?" I whispered
"Good morning miss.."
A stranger comes up to me and talks to me. Everything about this stranger is sketchy
"Hi, morning" I replied
I noticed he was hiding his right hand. "Anyway, do you need anything?" I asked. "I'll play along for now, this is so sketchy," I said to myself
"Come with me or I'll blast your head off" The stranger replied and pulled out a g*n with his right hand.
"Woah, alright just calm down" I said and slowly stood up
"Go to the back" The stranger said
I walked to the back of the cart "Now, what do you want?" I asked
"We heard that you have something that we need" The stranger replies
"What could possibly that be? You sure you got the right person?"
"Tanaka Yui, Age 17 years old" Another person comes out of the previous cart "That's you right?"
I was frozen in place when he said my name "How?" I asked
"That would be my secret. Now tell me, where did you put the files?" He asked
"What files?"
"The one you and the other guy stole from the building that exploded yesterday"
"You going after him too?" I asked
"Not really, It's more like a clean-up job if you know what I mean" He replied
Suddenly I felt a stab in my thigh. He stabbed me.... but when? He's fast
"ARGHH" I yelled.
"Now, tell me everything and I'll make this quick"
"I'll die before that happens," I said
"Well then. We'll just question the other one. You have no use to us anymore" He said and aimed his g*n at my head
