—ASHIRA'S POV—
"Ashira! You are about to be late," my mother said from downstairs. She was always like this. "Hayst, my class starts at 8, Mom; it's only 5 AM! Ako na po ba magbubukas ng gate?" I said jokingly. I heard her laugh before telling me to hurry up.
Since she was already about to scold me, I decided to get ready for school. After a while I got out of the house and saw that our car is not to be seen
"Mother, where is our car? I need a ride to school" I asked with a confusion tone slightly annoyed. I looked around more. Ano ba naman to Wala ba kong kausap? Tanong ko pa sa sarili ko maya-maya eh Nakita ko narin si manong Ean, ang family driver namin.
"Manong, where is the car?" I said, slightly annoyed. He looked at me before saying,
"Your father used it, ma'am. Nasiraan po kasi sila; and may important meeting siya today, so ayun po, muna yung ginamit niya. Tapos po, yung second car ay gagamitin po ng mama niyo," pagpapaliwanag pa nito.
Later, my mother came out in a hurry and looked at me. "Just take the bus, darling. Here's money; have fun at school," she said before kissing my cheeks. I had never ridden the bus.
"But—" before I could even complain, my mother cut me off:
"No, no buts! Nung panahon ko? Sumasakay pa ako sa kabayo makapasok lang! Magpasalamat ka nalang may bus na—blah blah blah."
Wow, horse? I'm pretty sure my mother lived in the city and she was not that old. I rolled my eyes. "Wow, horse? Mother, really? Were you also there when Rizal was writing the Noli Me Tangere?" I said jokingly. She laughed before getting in the car and leaving.
