Dear Diary: Closure

As I confirmed, I turned around and walked away while hiding my face. I called Olivia to pretend I am talking to someone like most the people here are doing. Also, I want to help her with our tent but she didn't answer. Maybe she's busy doing it by herself. Hahaha. I'm such a bad friend.

While waiting for her return call, I went to the edge of the camo site and sat beside the tallest tree and decided to stay. This place is a bit far from the camp site and it's indeed refreshing. I put on my earphones, played music and feel the atmosphere.

Hours passed, Olivia finally called me. "Hey! Where are you? I'm done with everything. How dare you leave all the work to me!", she exclaimed. I feel her annoyance and tiredness through her voice. Outsiders are not allowed inside the camp, so her driver was not able to help her. "I can't find you.", I explained. "I'll be there in a minute, where are you?", I asked. "I'm at the back of the stage.", she said and ended the call.

I stood up, put back my phone and shook off to energize my body. I started to walk but someone held my shoulders. I stopped and turned around. My eyes widened and I feel like I could not move. "Hi there.", he said. "I'm really sorry about what happened last semester, you seem traumatized whenever you see me.", he added. He's right. That was my first encounter, it was really scary and traumatizing for a woman.

"What was your research all about? What do you want to prove? Why did you used your students?", I asked him simultaneously. I want to be clear with everything so that I can be comfortable. Also, I used to think of him as a p*****t. If ever he's proven to be not, then must correct my wrong thinking about him.

"The research was about s*x differences in reactions to relationship, did I answer your question?", he said. I didn't say anything because my brain doesn't seem to have processed what he said yet. "I also have no plans to continue that. Hahaha.", he added. I looked him in the eye to see if he was serious about letting go of his research. He already experimented and almost finished that then he'll just quit. I mean, many students already know about it because he just used different students as his subject.

"That's good.", I answered. I was surprised when those words came out of my mouth. His research is not so very important but I guess the result could be useful in some matter. No one can say if it will be useful, right?

"So, are we cool now?", he asked. I did not answer instead I just nodded while walking away. For sure, he got what I mean.
