Summit Part 2: The Plan

Elle

I walked towards the room door slowly. I wasn't afraid, I was enraged. I was already upset that I couldn’t be with my mate. I decided that I was going to channel my anger into whoever thought it was a bright idea to break into my room. I hoped it would be one of those ass-hole alphas from the summit. I was ready to show them the strength and wrath of the first-ever female alpha. I will not be intimidated. I walked slowly towards the door, and in one swift motion, I flung the door open and sent my fireball launching in the direction of the sound. I heard a scream and realized immediately who was in my room. Talia, what the f**k! I rushed over, looking her up and down to assess my damage. Thankfully, she was able to dodge the fireball. I conjured up water to put out the flames in the corner of my room before the fire alarm went off, because that was the last thing I needed. I looked her over one more time to make sure she wasn’t hurt and that I didn’t have to heal her. Talia, why are you in my room?

Talia

Elle, what the hell? You almost killed me! Who pissed in your cereal this morning? Why are you so angry?

Elle

I didn’t expect to see you in my room! I thought it was one of the alphas from the alpha summit, and I lost it. I wanted to teach them a lesson. I am not going to lie. I am not in the best mood right now.

Talia

I can’t blame you. I heard you saying goodbye to each other, and I decided to come over to see what was going on. I mean, if it was me, I would literally face down ass up…..

Elle

Okay, okay, don’t finish that. I get it, Talia, I said with a slight smile on my face; leave it up to her to always make me laugh even when I am feeling my worst.

Talia

There’s that smile! Okay, now spill, why the hell are not you naked under that fine specimen of a man?

Elle

Sighing, I threw myself back on the bed. Talia sat down beside me.

Talia

It’s that bad, huh? Do I need to go up there and kick his ass because I swear to God I will? I don't care how perfect he is; I will mess up that beautiful face of his just say the word!

Elle

No! No, please don’t be mad at him; he didn’t do anything wrong he is absolutely perfect. I still can’t believe I found him again. Talia, don’t freak out because it is super late, and I don’t want you waking everyone up in this hotel, but he…he’s my mate Talia. Talia’s eyes widened in shock. I could tell she was squealing internally. She almost looked like she was going to explode with excitement! Earth to Talia, are you there? She still didn’t answer. I started to get worried. What the hell? I sat up, waving my hand in front of her face. Soon the conjoining room to my room burst open again, half asleep; Arie came running over, looking panicked and disheveled. I facepalmed. She was mind-linking poor Arie. Who looked like she’s seen better days?

Arie

What…. What is it? What's the emergency? Elle, are you okay? What the heck is going on? Why is Talia looking like that someone answer me?

Talia

Arie, you might want to sit down for this one.

Elle

I shook my head, leaving it up to Talia to be overly dramatic poor Arie, I thought to myself.

Arie

Well?

Talia

Elle found her mate!

Arie

Oh my God, what? You found your mate? Where? When? How?

Talia

That’s not even the best part! Remember that night at the club on Elle’s twenty-first birthday when she met that Greek god?

Arie

No f*****g way! Are you being for real right now?

Talia

Yes! She was up on the roof with him tonight; that's why we couldn’t find her earlier. What I am trying to figure out now is why she is back in her room instead of getting her back blown the f**k out! Were you scared that he would split you in half? That's what it is, isn’t it? That has to be the reason why you aren’t up there right now!

Elle

Arie and I were both left speechless. Talia was something else. I decided to finally fill them in about everything. I am back in my room because we didn’t want to get caught being together. We need the element of surprise. They both looked at me in confusion, so I continued. Remember the missing alpha from today's meeting? They both nodded in unison; well, Alpha Zane Alexander is my mate. Thee Zane Alexander, who we were hoping to make an alliance with. Their eyes widened.

Talia & Arie

Holy f*****g s**t!

Arie

Hold on, so you are trying to tell us that you are literally mated to the exact person who we came here to meet in the first place? The one person who we really needed an alliance with?

Talia

The most powerful Alpha in North America, if not the whole world? Holy f**k, Elle, this is a major development! Why didn’t you start off with that first?

Elle

Well, you didn’t exactly give me a chance to explain, did you?

Talia

I guess you are right, but I just couldn’t imagine not automatically jumping his bones right away; that man is seriously a work of art; it’s unreal. I can only hope my mate looks half as good as him!

Arie

We can all only hope!

Elle

I laughed. I can always count on these two to make me feel better. I continued to fill them in about what the plan was for tomorrow for the summit, and they proceeded to ask questions about what it’s like to finally find your mate. If it was really like what we read in the books about the sparks and the instant attraction. We talked all night until we all fell asleep on my bed. We only awoke to the sound of my alarm. We all got up fully exhausted, realizing we had only slept for one hour, but it didn’t matter. We had work to do. Today was a big day. I looked over at Talia. She looked miserable. What’s wrong, Talia?

Talia

I slept wrong, and I can't move my freaking neck. It's so stiff I can’t turn it to the left without turning my whole body. I look like Big Ed from my ninety-day fiance!

Elle

Arie and I both laughed so hard that tears ran out of our eyes. Talia glared at us both in fake anger. After catching my breath and composing myself, I decided to take pity on her and heal her. Come here, Talia. Placing my hand on the area of her neck, I then let out my fairy healing orb, and she instantly groaned a sigh of relief. There you go, now let's get ready. Talia thanked me profusely, and then they both headed off to their rooms to get ready.

I thought about how much better I was at healing from where I began three years ago. I was proud of all of my progress. I only hope that one day I can use this power for something truly important. I was a rare fairy power that few possessed, and if the wrong people found out about it, it could mean me being targeted. I shook it off; as long as I was careful about who knew about my power, I would be perfectly fine. I wanted to see Zane so much that I found myself rushing to get ready. There was a knock on my door, and my heart skipped a beat. Was it Zane? I thought for a split second, but then I remembered that we both planned on not being seen together, so him coming to my room, especially right before the meeting, would be too risky. I quickly pulled on my robe and headed to the door. When I opened it, it was a worker from the hotel holding one flower I’d never seen before. They were beautiful. It was beautiful, with captivating hues of red and white, in the shape of a heart it was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. It was encased in a glass case. It came with a note:

The coeur rouge flower is one of the hardest to obtain and rare flowers in this world. God, how could this man be any more perfect? Not even twenty-four hours of meeting, and he is already showering me with gifts and making me smile like a giddy schoolgirl. I found myself rushing to get ready even faster just so that I could see him, even if I couldn’t acknowledge that he was my mate. I decided to do a slick back wet hair look while wearing my all-black suit with gold buttons. I had a black smokey eye and ruby red lipstick. I wanted to match my mood today. Today I was out for blood; literally, Alpha Thomas and the other d***s will not intimidate me. This isn’t the fifteen hundred females can hold high-ranking positions in packs, and from today onward, I plan on leading the initiative to help females in all packs live to their fullest potential. These men need to be knocked down a peg. The adjacent door to my room opened. Arie, and Talia both walked in. I do have to admit my friends are freaking hot. We looked so damn good while still commanding respect.

Talia

We are some hot-ass bitches! I don’t know how that mate of yours will stay away from you.

Elle

I blushed a bit. Honestly, I don’t know how I am going to stay away from him either; just the thought of him wearing a suit made my heart race. s**t, Elle, get it together. I took a deep breath, turned around, looked in the mirror one more time, and headed out of the room. On the elevator, I felt more nervous than usual. The thought of seeing Zane gave me butterflies. How could I pretend that this man has no effect on me when all my thoughts are consumed by him?

We walked into the conference room and were met with angry and even some lustful gazes from these pigs. Alpha Thomas had a smug look on his face, and he made a snarky comment about us being eye candy for all of the alphas. They all started to laugh loudly, and I immediately looked at Thomas with a look of disdain. If I could kill him, I would. There is no place in this world for people like this man. He is pure evil. I usually never say that I hated someone, but this man, I hated. We took our seats and waited for the elders to start the meeting. I decided not to let them get to me. Elder Jackson opened the meeting.

Elder Jackson

On the agenda for today, we will be working on solutions for all of the topics discussed yesterday. First order of business, let's vote on the topic of vampires and fairies. Will we be voting for either starting a war and eradicating them all little by little or keeping things as it is where they are on the top of the threat list?

Elle

I immediately stated that the third option could be my suggestion from yesterday and form an alliance with them! Alpha Thomas immediately slammed his fist on the table!

Alpha Thomas

Absolutely not! There will be no alliance with those f*****g fairies or those blood-sucking son of a b***h vampires. I actually vote for war; we should start taking them out until they are all gone one by f*****g one, maybe starting with you and your so-called pack of inbreds!

Elle

Hybrids! You must have us confused for your pack, you disrespectful piece of s**t!

Elder Jackson

That’s enough. I didn’t ask for any other suggestions. A woman should know her place. Your parents did such a piss poor job raising you. Now let’s vote on the two options that I mentioned earlier.

Elle

Amethyst was fighting to push forward, and I was having a hard time keeping her in check because I was on the same page as her. I wanted to set him on fire and watch him burn slowly. Arie and Talia were both mind-linking me, asking to attack Alpha Thomas, and as much as I wanted to say yes and join them, it wouldn’t go over well attacking an alpha in a room full of alphas who completely hated us. We were outnumbered, and as much as I was confident in our skills to take them all out, we must try to avoid conflict at all costs. All of the alphas placed their votes with the push of a button, and the results were tallied on the screen in the form of a graph. It was an even fifty split; half wanted to attack, and half wanted things to remain as is. I didn’t know what this meant, then Alpha Jackson begrudgingly looked over to us and said through gritted teeth the tiebreaker would be decided by the sapphire pack. Hurry up and cast your vote. I looked at him with a sarcastic smile on my face. It's Alpha Elle to you. Mr. Jackson and I placed our vote to keep things as is. If looks could kill, I would be dead; too bad for them it couldn’t.

Alpha Jackson

Thanks to Ell... Alpha Elle, things will stay as is.

Elle

All the alphas who voted for war glared at us as if they were two seconds away from shifting. This is absolute bull s**t, I thought to myself. I stated out loud that we were not the only ones who voted against the war; there were other alphas, fifty percent to be exact, who decided that they didn’t want a war either, thus why we had to be the deciding vote in the first place.

Alpha Blake

They do have a point; Jackson she was just the deciding factor half of the room did vote against it. So get your panties out of a bunch and get your personal feelings out of this. We all know that the majority wins when it comes to voting.

Elle

He looked over at me with a smile on his face, and I gave him a slight one back, also. I am really starting to like Elder Blake more and more clearly, he isn’t like the others. My thoughts were soon interrupted by none other than Alpha Thomas having another tantrum.

Alpha Thomas

Well, maybe we can make an exception this year; after all, this appears to be a year of first. First, we let women into this sacred meeting, and then we made an exception for inbreds… I mean hybrids that are strictly forbidden. So I don’t see why we can make an exception to this particular topic. After all, these creatures are a threat to our existence and our future, we need to eliminate them once and for all!

Elder Blake

That’s enough, Alpha Thomas! We will do no such thing; the votes are final!

Alpha Thomas

You are a weak and pathetic old man! Maybe we need to vote to replace you!

Elder Blake

Watch your mouth, Alpha Thomas; that's a warning!

Alpha Thomas

A warning? Is this supposed to scare me into thinking that you can do something to me? I have the most powerful pack in all of North America, and I have an influence on many of the Alpha’s here.

Elder Blake

You know damn well that Alpha Alexander holds the most powerful pack here!

Elle

Alpha Thomas let out a cynical laugh. It made my skin crawl and made me angry all at the same time. I hated this man with every fiber of my being.

Alpha Thomas

Oh yeah, if he is the most powerful Alpha, then where is he? Alpha Alexander, where are you? See, not here; maybe the car trouble is worse than we thought, so as I was saying, let’s make an exception for the first time ever….

Elle

The door flew open violently, almost breaking off of the hinges

Zane

Yes, Thomas, for the first time ever, let’s have the very first dead alpha at the alpha summit! I even brought you one last gift. He slammed the severed head on the table. Alpha Thoma’s face turned sheet white. What Thoma’s cat’s got your tongue?

Elle

My heart hammered violently in my chest when I looked up at the face of my mate. His expression was none that I’d ever seen before; before I could get my thought’s together, all hell broke loose!!!
