What the hell is he doing here??

Alpha Thomas

(Mindlink): Shut up the f**k up, Terry! You are going to get us killed!

Beta Terry

(Mindlink): You, you said that he was dead! How do you expect me to stay quiet? He killed my son Thomas!

Alpha Thomas

(Mindlink): If you don’t shut the f**k up, Terry, we will be joining your son. We will get him soon, but for now, play it cool and follow my lead so that we can leave here alive.

Zane

What’s wrong, Thomas? You look like you've seen a ghost?

Alpha Thomas

No! Not at all, Alpha Zane; it’s just so good to see you! I’m happy that you were able to still make it.

Zane

Are you now? Last I checked, you and your pack were on a mission to kill me! You should have known that it wasn’t going to be that easy to get rid of me. Unfortunately for you, that isn’t going to be the case for you!

Elder Jackson

What the hell is going on here? Why do you have a severed head on the table?

Zane

What’s going on here is that we are going to have our first-ever dead alpha at this year's alpha summit!

Elle

Before elder Jackson could get another word out, Zane flipped the table, sending the severed head flying across the room! The look of fear in Alpha Thomas’s eyes brought me joy. In seconds, he had alpha Thomas by the throat. His claws were now fully extended, digging into the sides of his flesh. Drops of blood are now running down.

Zane

Any last words Thomas?

Alpha Thomas

(gasping): This is all one big misunderstanding, Zane!

Zane

(Deep Growl): It’s Alpha Zane to you, Thomas!

Alpha Thomas

(gasping): Alpha Zane, I...I don’t know what happened, but it was all Terry’s idea.

Beta Terry

What the f**k, Thomas? This was all your plan; you wanted him dead just as much as me. I wanted to avenge my son's death, and you wanted him out of the way so that you could take over his territory and gain power and alliances!

Elder Jackson

This all has to be one big understanding! I’m sure Alpha Thomas has a good explanation about what happened and, even if this is true, this is not the way that we handle matters like this, there would have to be a trial in front of all the elders after an investigation then we would carry out a sentence.

Zane

What needs to be understood is that they both die today. There will be no investigation and no trial. I am the judge, jury, and executioner! By the way, your pack has been dismantled, and your warriors are all dead along with your wives and children. It’s a pile of ashes by now. (Though I didn’t kill the women and children, I wanted them to think about this because I wanted them to feel the most excruciating pain both physically and emotionally before their deaths). The room grew eerily quiet. You could hear a pin drop. I saw tears well up in both of their eyes, and I knew I had them just where I wanted them.

Elder Jackson

That’s enough! Unhand Alpha Thomas at once. This has gone on too far if it is proven that you did indeed kill their families, this is punishable by death, Zane!

Elder Blake

But Jackson, if they did indeed try to kill him, then his attack was necessary. He had a right to retaliate.

Elder Jackson

Bull s**t how do we know that they actually did try to kill him without an investigation?

Elder Blake

They just admitted to trying to get rid of him and take over his territory! Are you deaf or do you have selective hearing?

Elder Jackson

Well, he must have done something to them in the first place to warrant the attack. I've known Alpha Thomas and Beta Terry for years. There is no way they would attack without a good reason. They are reputable and rational high-ranking members who would never do anything without a perfectly good reason. Alpha Terry, what’s the reason for the attack on Alpha Zane in the first place?

Beta Terry

(Holding back tears): He….he killed my son! Elder Jackson, for no reason, then sent his dismembered body back to the pack with a warning! My son was a good boy and next in line to be beta after I stepped down. He would never cause any trouble!

Elder Jackson

You see, Blake I told you there had to be a good reason they would never have done anything irresponsible. First it’s these young hot-headed alphas who think that they have God complexes that cause all of the trouble.

Elder Blake

I’ve known the Alexander family for years. They are some of the best people I know for a fact that Zane would never have killed Terry’s son if he hadn't committed a heinous crime. Is that right, Zane?

Zane

He came to my pack and tried to r**e one of my omegas, so I killed him in a slow and painful death. I did you a favor, though, Thomas and Terry, your son is as weak as they come my omega, and Delta really did a number on him. He would never have made it as a good beta in the first place. He was a weak, pathetic excuse for a man. I did him a favor. In fact, I did all of you a favor now, there is one less piece of s**t on this earth!

Beta Terry

You son of a b***h! I will kill you myself once and for all.

Elle

Beta Terry lunged towards the direction of where Zane stood with a wide-eyed Thomas still gripped by the throat. My eyes grew wide. I immediately placed a force field around Zane, along with also using a lightning bolt on Terry flying across the other side of the room. The room was filled with the sound of gasps and looks of shock, but I didn’t care. As long as he couldn’t get to Zane, I didn’t care. I'm sure Zane could handle them both, but my instinct to protect my mate just kicked in, and I couldn’t control myself. Now Elder Jackson was livid. He partially shifted and started running toward the forcefield I created, but there was nothing he could do. If I didn’t remove it, no one could get through it. He pounded on it as if his life depended on it.

Zane looked back at Elder Jackson with a look of warning in his eye; which I am sure sent chills down Elder Jackson’s spine. Then he faced Alpha Thomas. Elder Jackson’s pounding slowed down when he realized what was going to happen. Alpha Thomas looked like he was going to have a heart attack. Then soon, I heard excruciating screams of pain coming from Alpha Thomas. It was then that I realized that Zane had his digging into his chest where his heart should be with fully extended claws. He made it slow and agonizing. Thomas’s screams could now be heard throughout the hotel. Blood poured down Thomas’s white shirt as Zane's claws went deeper and deeper into his flesh. Thomas didn’t move; he stood frozen in fear.

It was as if he was so filled with fear that he decided he had no fight left, or maybe he was all bark and no bite, a weak, pathetic excuse of a man who covered up his weakness by projecting his fear and shifting the blame on others. I was glad that he was going to die, and the look in his eye was all too satisfying. Zane stuck his hands into the wall of his chest cavity and pulled out his beating heart. Alpha Thomas looked down at his heart with wide eyes and tried to reach out for it, but instead, took one last breath as his body fell to the floor with a loud thud. Beta Terry laid on the ground in a comatose state. He wasn’t dead yet, but would be soon if he didn’t receive some medical treatment. Elder Jackson let out a loud, angry growl. Zane turned around with the still beating heart in his hand. While facing Jackson, he dropped the heart on the floor, and with one swift stomp, the heart exploded, sending blood flying everywhere. Zane then spat on it. I removed the force field, and Zane walked over to Beta Terry. He turned around to Elder Jackson.

Zane

He will be my prisoner, he will not be leaving my pack alive, and if anyone tries to stop us, they can join good old Thomas here. Shall we go on now with the meeting? I vote to keep things as it is with the vampires and fairies. I also decided that this year, since it’s a year of many firsts for us all, right Thomas? Oh yeah right, he’s dead. Anyway, I’ve decided that I will form my very first alliance.

Elle

The room broke out in murmurs. Every alpha puffed out their chest in hopes of being the one chosen for the alliance. So it was all to their dismay when Zane looked over in my direction with a smile on his blood-stained face.

Zane

I, Alpha Alexander of the Crimson Moon pack, am hereby asking for an alliance with Alpha Elle White, Beta Talia, and Gamma Arie if they will accept my offer, that is.

Elle

My heart skipped a beat though I knew it was coming. It sounded so much better having him say my name in front of all of these alphas. I looked over to Talia and Arie. We couldn't accept it too fast; we had to make it look realistic. We pretended to mind link and discuss the situation. After a few minutes, I looked up into his gray orbs and accepted his offer. His smile made me weak, but I managed to keep my composure.

Zane

You have no idea how happy this made me. Alpha White we must meet after the summit ends to discuss matters and how we are going to move forward with our alliance. After all, this is my very first alliance with anyone. It will take some time to figure out how this all works.

Elle

He had a cheeky smile on his face that made me want to melt. I had to fight the urge to smile, and my cheeks were getting red. I had to remain professional. The goal today was to form an alliance without any of the alphas realizing that we were mates. I didn’t want them to think that he only formed the alliance because we were mates. I wanted them to respect me and see that I was worthy of an alliance. I cleared my throat and answered professionally. I think that is a great idea, Alpha Alexander. Zane then turned to Elder Jackson. His facial expression changed to that of disgust and disdain. The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Zane

Before the meeting is over, I want to vote on one last thing: the progression of women's rights in our community. As you could tell by me having a female delta, I am all for it, so I vote for establishing high-ranking positions for females in all packs. Let’s all take a vote on it. I knew that after today none of the packs would want to be on my bad side, and they would vote accordingly. Elder Jackson was pissed, but there was nothing that he could do now. He knew that he couldn’t stop me from doing what I just did. No one could. I do not tolerate disrespect the fact that Thomas’s Pack decided to try to overthrow mine. I had to set an example with both of them. I looked around the room and noticed that everyone was voting. I turned to look at the screen and noticed that over seventy percent of the votes were for the change. Elder Jackson was pissed if looks could kill. I would be dead, and unluckily for him they couldn’t. I will deal with him later. Something about him is not right. I can't put my finger on it right now, but when I do, maybe he will end up joining his dear friend Thomas over there.

Elder Blake

Well, the votes are in looks like there are going to be big changes coming for all of us. Let’s think of this change as a good thing. Women are an integral part of our packs. Without them, none of us would be here. It is about time we started showing the respect they deserve. Well, due to today's events, I believe that it would be fitting for us to conclude today's meeting. Does anyone else have any more questions or concerns?

Elle

The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I would certainly count today as a victory: women can now officially hold high-ranking positions in their packs, and we have an alliance with Zane like we have been wanting. And the plus side to all of this d**k head, Thomas is lying dead a few feet away today. It couldn’t have gone any better if I had tried. I was quickly jolted out of my thoughts by the sound of Zane's voice.

Zane

Let today be a lesson for you all. If anyone of you ever decides to go against me, my pack will die. I do hope you will think twice before even attempting to do what these two idiots have done. Now, if you will excuse me, I have pressing matters to take care of.

Elle

Before Zane could walk out, two tall, muscular men about six feet walked in. They must have been from Zane's pack. They picked up Terry and Thomas’s bodies and carried them off with ease. They all walked out, Zane leading in the front. I locked eyes with him, and it was as if I was in a trance. They stared into my soul. My heart picked up its pace, it was loud drumming in my ears. My breathing became more shallow with every breath that entered my lungs. Amethyst whined for her mate that it was torture. I was jolted out of my trance by a mind link from Talia.

Talia

(Via Mindlink): Elle, I think we need to take a trip to your mates' pack like yesterday! It’s like they are all out of the build-a-man workshop!

Elle

(confused): Don’t you mean build a bear workshop?

Talia

No, Elle, I meant what I said. The only way men could ever be that perfect is if someone built them! Hmm., Maybe if I trip they can carry me out too? Let’s see….

Elle

Talia, don’t you dare! I shouted via mind-link. I was actually thankful to Taila for pulling me out of my trance. It was getting harder and harder not to give in to this matebond.

Talia

Ugh fine, but you owe me the first time you decided to take a trip there; I get to go too! Promise me!

Elle

Fine, I promise you and Arie can come with me on my first visit to his pack. We were both jolted out of our inward conversation when Elder Blake called the meeting to a close.

Elder Blake

Well, today was quite an eventful one, to say the least. Nonetheless, it was an interesting day filled with lots of firsts! Though the meeting ended earlier than we anticipated, we still were able to touch on the most important topics that we discussed yesterday, and with that being said, I would like to call this meeting to a close. Congratulations to the leaders of the Sapphire Pack for being the only ones to secure an alliance and for taking a progressive stance on the ancient ways our packs have operated over the years. We will now all take our leaves and return to our respective packs tomorrow. Elder Jackson, do you have anything else you would like to input?

Elder Jackson

(incoherent mumbling)

Elder Blake

I guess that’s a no….. Then well, this meeting is now adjourned! We will send out the information for next year's summit. Until then!

Arie

Guys, is it just me, or is something off with Elder Jackson? It’s like he’s broken or something. He's mumbling things that don't make any sense.

Elle

I noticed that, too, it’s like he’s taking Thomas’s death way harder than anyone else here…. I guess it’s because they were so much alike. Maybe they were good friends or something.

Arie

Either way, I’m so happy that that fucker is dead!

Talia

You know it’s bad when someone makes Arie cuss. Don’t worry, Arie, I am right there with you. I’m so glad that Elle’s Adonis of a man came in and f****d s**t up!

Elle

Sush Talia, did you forget we are in a room full of wolves?

Talia

Shit, I forgot you know how carried away I get when I talk about fine-ass men!

Elle

I remember feeling jealous all those years ago when she would talk about Zane, but now I just laugh about it. Don’t get me wrong, if any other girl talked about him like that, I set their hair on fire. I realized that I couldn’t help but feel this way, and it was all because of the bond plus Amethyst didn't make it better. She intensifies these feelings. I was deep in thought when Elder Blake approached us.

Elder Blake

It’s nice to have a Sapphire Pack here again after so many years. Your parents were great people, and you all made them proud today. Congratulations on getting the new law passed for females. It should have happened years ago. You ladies made history today. The first female to ever attend a summit, get a new law passed and secure an alliance with the crimson moon pack. No one has ever been able to form an alliance with them. The way I see it, the sapphire pack is on its way to becoming one just like the Crimson Moon powerful. You have now earned the respect of all of the packs here. They may not show it but whether they like it or not, you ladies proved that you belong here today. I hope your meeting with Alpha Alexander goes well. He's a hard man to impress. Anyway, ladies, good luck, and if you ever need me, here is my card. Don’t hesitate to reach out. It is good to have friends on the Elders Council.

Elle

With a wink, he walked away. I really like Elder Blake. He is the only person here that has been nice and respectful to us since we got here. It is a good thing to have an inside to the council. We gathered our things and started to head up to our rooms. We made small talk about how the past two days had gone as we stepped on the elevator to head to our floor.

Talia

Can you believe that Elder Blake said that Zane is a hard man to impress? If only he knew the truth he would know that Zane may be hard, but not hard to impress, if you know what I mean.

Arie

Sometimes I wonder about you! What is in that head of yours?

Talia

Wouldn’t you like to know? And besides, I haven’t gotten laid in a while, like a long while…… Maybe that’s about to change!

Elle

I was so deep in thought and nervous about meeting Zane tonight that I didn’t realize we were already on our floor. Talia stopped in her tracks, and we all bumped into her.

Aerie

Talia, what the hell!

Talia

Build a man workshop at ten o’clock. It’s a miracle, no, it’s a sign. I can finally get over my dry spell. Alright, don’t wait up, ladies, or maybe you won’t have a choice because it may be pretty loud in my room tonight.

Elle

Arie face palmed. I mind-linked Talia: You better not, or I won’t take you to Zane's pack. She whipped her head around, looking at me disappointedly with her arms crossed.

Talia

Whispering: You don’t play fair, do you, woman, you are such a damn clam jam!

Arie

And what in the freaking hell is a clam jam Talia? I am convinced that you make up your own words!

Talia

It’s the female version of c**k clocking, duh! It’s not my fault I don't keep up with all the new terms!

Elle

I don’t even wanna know! I am going to go over and talk to him since he is standing in front of my hotel door. I will let you guys know what he says later. They both walked towards their perspective rooms, not before Talia crossed her arms and reluctantly walked away. I walked towards the door and greeted him. I wasn't worried about the fact that he was some strange man standing in front of my door because he was from Zane’s pack. He was one of the ones that carried Thomas and Terry out of the conference room today. I walked over with a smile on my face, but as I got closer, I realized that his expression was a happy one. It looked pained. I don’t know how, but I could tell something was wrong.

Alfie

Alpha Elle, my name is Alphie from the crimson moon pack. Alpha Zane wanted me to personally deliver a message to you. He regrets to inform you that he won’t be able to meet with you later on today. An emergency came up, and he had to leave immediately. He is truly sorry and promises to make it up to you. He also wanted to give you this.

Elle

It was a little suede box when I opened it. I was shocked to see it as a key… I was confused about what this key was for. Then Alfie handed me a note.

Alfie

He also wanted me to give you this. I was a note that read: I know we have a lot to talk about and figure out, but I wanted you to have the key to the crimson moon pack. I am sorry that I had to leave early and, believe me, it pained me and the knight to do so. But my pack needs me right now. I promise I will explain everything later.

Z

Elle

After reading the note, Amethyst whined for her mate. I was filled with emotions too. I was sad, disappointed, but most of all, worried. Something wasn’t right. The tone of the note, the way Alfie looked, and the look on Zanes' face earlier today, when he walked into the room, had me on edge. I looked at Alfie’s face and then the note and the key and decided that I needed to go to the Crimson Moon pack. I looked at him again, and Alfie take me to the Crimson Moon Pack!
