EPISODE 9: "We Need Help" Our relatives visited us and we recounted the entire ordeal. Fortunately, they believed us, and Emmanuel's uncle offered to find a lawyer for us - the best news we'd heard since our troubles began. However, our relief was short-lived. That night, masked military men attacked us in the guard room. During the scuffle, they shot Kwame. As soon as the shot rang out, the attackers fled. I knew I had to tread carefully, living in the shadow of our accusers. A glimmer of hope emerged when the state appointed a lawyer, Mr. Eduaful, to defend us. We shared our account of the incident with him, and to our relief, he believed us. He vowed to investigate the matter thoroughly, with a particular focus on Officer Mensah's involvement. As I reflected on our ordeal, a sense of sadness washed over me once again... To be continued.
