Chapter Six- Unfortunate

575 Words
When we finally land in my room, there is another girl there. She couldn't be the youngest, because of the two obvious reasons: 1. She is dressed in clothes from the early twentieth century and 2. They had said I know the youngest ghost, but I had never seen this oddly dressed girl before. "Starley! Ah, you're here already? I thought Kim was going to show you her whole life story!" says Sierra with a snicker. "This is our oldest sister, Carrie Ann. She died when this place wasn't even a hotel!" I look at the small figure. "But, she's so young." It's true. The girl can't be more than twelve. "Star, if we measured age like that when we're ghosts, then Sierra would be the oldest and she could order us around. It would be dreadful," groans Kim. Sierra shoots her an angry look. "Starley! I'm Carrie Ann! Would you like to be my friend?" asks the little girl with an adorable smile that I cannot say no to. "Of course." The little girl grins. Her curly chocolate brown hair quivered, and her gold eyes looked like golden jades. She's short for her age, too. Only 4"11. And her aura, it was different. Old and ancient. I couldn't understand it. "Ummm, Sierra, aren't you next?" "No. Mariah's getting impatient. She's gonna explode if she does not get her turn soon. But, before that, could you please come with me, Starley?" I go with her to the balcony. "Starley, I'm here to warn you. Mariah's past is darker than the rest of our's. She gets a little touchy, and you might have guessed she doesn't like being near you. She considers you an intruder, taking up our personal space. Do not despair if she does not communicate well. She's had a hard life. Just don't make any comments, and you'll get along great." "Ok, Sierra. But why are her origins worse?" "You'll see, my child." She smiles," I can't wait for my turn with you," and kisses my head. I go back, and Mariah grabs my hand forcefully. And the world is swept from under me.  Her memories are worse. Full of darkness and sorrow. They're horrible. Suddenly I realize why Mariah's past was so much worse. Abused, bullied all through her life. When I reached, it  was in a room, my room. Or, at least, one that was exactly like mine. Mariah was standing, beside a small table. She was writing a note- a suicide note. It said exactly the following words: I am going to leave the world on my own conditions. I am thankful for everything you did for me, Mia. But what Madre said, about me being a worthless child, worse than my sister was. She was so perfect, so beautiful. Then I came along. A disappointment. I hate myself, and nothing can change that. Everyone left me except you. You were my support, but now that you're in Japan, no one is here anymore. I am going. Hope you can forgive me. All I have will go to you, my beautiful friend.Love, your friend, Mariah. She put the note in an envelope, then left it on the table. She said something in Spanish and then headed towards the doors. And went down the stairs, and stood at the window. A tear streamed down her cheek and hit the ground. The scene was so sad, it broke my heart. Then she climbed on top of the rail, and got ready, more tears continuously dropping from her cheeks. Then she jumped, not screaming, to her death.
