Henry We stared at each other for a few seconds. “Here it is.” Sandra hands a cup to each of us. “Do you need anything else, dear?” Sandra notices the tension between us. “Na... N...” Liz starts to stutter. “No, Sandra, you can go now. Unless Mr. McNight does need something.” “You can go, Sandra.” I don't want her caught in the middle of this argument. “Excuse me, then.” Sandra leaves, leaving us alone. Liz heads toward the kitchen, and I follow. How could she fool me all this time? She places the cup on the island, and when she turns, I can't stop looking at her, remembering all the time I lost without having her for myself. “Did you come to sign the divorce papers?” I can't believe she still wants a divorce. “It's too late; my lawyer doesn't answer at this hour.” I keep observing
