Layla’s POV
I am brought back to reality as I splash into a lake. I am panting heavily as I look around me. It reminds me of the lake where I laid Tina to rest. ‘The only difference is that there are no cliffs at the mouth of the lake. It has a nice flowing river feeding into the lake. I lay down in the water, trying to remain calm. I think back to how peaceful that other lake was.
(Flashback)
I had been running for two whole days now. I only stopped when I needed to rest or hunt down something for me to eat. Hunting animals and eating them raw sounds gross, but doing it as a wolf seems to help with it a lot. The raw meat kind of tastes like chicken in wolf form.
