Emma’s POV
I didn’t know when I exactly fell asleep in Hunter’s arms, but all of a sudden I was awakened by the most terrifying scream I had ever heard. It took me a moment to realize that the scream had come from my lips. I couldn’t see anything, my sight was blinded by the intense pain.
I felt an extreme pain I had never felt before. My body felt like it was on fire, but a chill ran through me as if I were naked in the snow. “Emma!” I heard what seemed to be different voices calling out to me all at once. They felt like they were so far away but also so close by.
‘Try to relax, Emma. It is time.’ Aphrodite said, her voice was the only voice that I could clearly hear. ‘Time? Time for what?’ I asked her. My mind was racing with a lot more questions, but I was in too much pain to ask her
