Chapter 8:
I waited patiently in my tent with no desire of falling asleep. When I felt like the coast was clear I quietly exit the tent. Examining the setting I see all the lights off and no members of the pack in sight. Risking everything including my life, I slowly step out of the tent and begin to walk away from the site.
I knew if someone found out that I was trying to escape they would tell the Alpha and he would probably kill me. Either way, this life wasn't for me. I didn't fit in at all, and I can already tell that many of the members did not like me, especially the leaders with the exception of Chase.
I think about all these things as I slowly depart the site. I leave with curiosity burning in my heart, because I knew if I stayed I could learn more about myself and my family history. But I also leave anxious to get back to the familiarity of my home, friends, and even school.
Looking back one last time I sigh and enter the woods. My feet halt and my eyes widen when I see a figure approaching me from the direction of the woods. I quickly slap my mouth with my hand to prevent any noise. I freeze up awaiting the worst.
The Omega comes into view. His tank top exposes his strong arms and his tall posture sends shivers to my body. I am definitely going to die. This guy clearly doesn't even like his own pack, let alone someone he just met.
He calmly stops in front of me and examines me intensively. I remove my hand from my mouth and immediately hiccup a gasp. I force myself to stand straight and look straight into his eyes. His hazel eyes continue to stare at me.
I begin to grow uncomfortable as the silence intensifies. He smirks realizing the affect he was having on me.
"Leaving so soon?" He questions with a raised brow. I open my mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. Instead I nod slowly and stare at the ground to avoid eye contact.
“Do you even know where you're going?" He continues to question my actions. I clear my throat. "I think I can manage." My voice comes out small. "Okay."
I lift my head in shock. "You're not going to stop me?" I ask in disbelief and relief. He shakes his head no. "You have the right to do as you please." he assures. I nod slowly.
My feet begin to move again and I start leaving the Omega's side. “Hey." He calls out calmly. I stop and turn. "Be careful out there...you might not like what you see." He warns.
“Thanks.” I nod and begin to walk away again this time with much more speed.
