I didn't give her enough credit. Though sweet and kind, there was a fierce spirit within Luna Jo. She was protective of her friends, especially Eyrx. I was frozen in horror when I first saw him transform, knowing that this was the young boy I had helped many years ago. The creature must have bitten him before we killed it. How had Eyrx been able to tame the monster inside and use it to protect and defend those he cared for?
