Chapter 6

My body started shivering out of instinct in the awareness of danger. I was sure he could feel my shivering body through his palm, which still rested on my shoulder. Calmly he said "Do you trust me?" Before I could utter a clear reply, I heard a glimpse of their growls and snarls, echoing through the quiet forest. It sent shivers down my spine! I swallowed "Yes I trust you", a tear was about to escape my eyes. "Calm down, I can feel you stressing yourself out. Get your heart into a relaxing balance”, he said softly. «What is he trying to do? This isn’t the right time to mess around» "Just close your eyes and take deep breaths. I will handle the rest." I finally gave in and did as instructed. Shortly after I had closed my eyes, I felt myself getting lifted off the ground and now being carried between his arms. Not sure what to do, I linked my hands together around his neck to stabilizes my weight on him. Soon after, he was walking slowly, and I felt the motion as light as bouncing feathers on a mattress. To be honest, I was secretly wishing that he would carry me for a long amount of time, but insecure about my weight at the same time, thinking it was being too heavy on him.
